Ohta Kosan Co., Ltd. will hold a photo exhibition \u201cWest Europe and Asia | Two Masters\u201d by street photography masters Robert Doisneau and Fan Ho at Hiko Hiko Gallery in Ginza in 2022. It will be held until September 11th.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Hikohiko Gallery Interior 1 (Door No)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u25a0Background of the event<\/strong> <br \/>Photography has become very familiar in recent years due to the spread of digital cameras and smartphones. While it has become possible to easily record everyday moments, the field of "art photography" is still far away for many people. In addition, \u201cinstagrammable\u201d photos with a strong impact that can be seen even on a small screen have become popular, and it is becoming more difficult to understand the original splendor of photos.<\/p>\n

Therefore, we will hold an exhibition of the works of street photographers who were active in the mid-20th century, and provide an opportunity to think about "what is a photograph that touches the heartstrings?"<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u25a0West Europe and Asia, two great masters<\/strong> <br \/>A total of 36 photographs by Robert Doisneau and Van Ho will be exhibited at the Ota Kosan Collection Exhibition.<\/p>\n

<Robert Doisneau>
A Paris-based photographer, he captured the everyday lives of ordinary people with humor and affection.<\/p>\n

Awards received Kodak Award (1947), Niepce Award (1956), etc.
In 1984, he was awarded the Legion of Honor and the title of Chevalier.<\/p>\n

<Fung Ho>
Based in Hong Kong, he expressed his affection for people and the reconstruction of Hong Kong. He spent a lot of time working in the darkroom and was good at sublimating his work to a level that was straight-forward and heart-wrenching.<\/p>\n

Received "Life-time Achievement Award, the 2nd Global Chinese International Photography Award, China, 2015" by The Chinese Photographic Society (Guangzhou).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
