– A space where you can encounter the craftsmanship and beauty of craftsmanship and choose a special piece –
Seisuke Hamono Co., Ltd., a specialty knife store, will open its first flagship store in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo, with a pre-opening on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
The Ginza flagship store marks a new milestone for Seisuke Cutlery.
The store focuses not only on the functionality of knives as tools, but also on the craftsmanship behind them, the activities rooted in the land, and the ideas and aesthetic sense that have been honed over a long period of time, and the space expresses this respect for these things.
In a quiet and calm space, you can enjoy the beauty of knives and the aesthetics of craftsmanship, while taking the time to choose your own "special knife."
Seisuke Hamono started online in 2014 and has since expanded to locations across Japan, including Portland, USA.
What we value is not just the knives themselves, but also the artisans who create them, and the techniques and history that reside within them, and spreading that knowledge widely.
Our new Ginza flagship store is a place that expresses these feelings.
The Glass Archives of Forging
In the center of the two-story atrium space is a display called "The Glass Archives of Forging."
The knives lined up in the approximately 8-meter atrium are expressed as an "archive of time," quietly reflecting the traces of time and skill that have been accumulated in each knife.
A bottle that you can only find at our Ginza store.
In addition, the Ginza store will offer knives that are not available at other stores, with a focus on knives made by artisans in Takefu, Fukui Prefecture.
The store will feature a selection of valuable knives, including a custom-made model by craftsman Yu Kurosaki, created for Mr. Komai of "Bar CENTIFOLIA," which has fans all over the world.
To the place where knives are made – the next step
Seisuke Cutlery is spreading this philosophy beyond Ginza.
We are thinking of providing accommodation facilities and other facilities as a way to create experiences and spaces that allow people to experience the time and work behind the craftsmanship and the unique values of the land, while also deeply considering the land where the knives are made.
The Ginza flagship store and these upcoming initiatives mark the beginning of the next chapter for Seisuke Cutlery.
We do not simply purchase and sell excellent knives from artisans; we respect the time, skills, and ideas behind craftsmanship and manufacturing, and we want to be a team that creates a sustainable cycle so that these can be passed on to the next generation.
We will continue to take on various challenges in order to connect the value of artisans and manufacturing to people around the world.
Additionally, related events are planned for the grand opening, scheduled for around March 2026.
