Japan's coffee culture, boasting unparalleled diversity and depth in the world, will come together in Ginza, the birthplace of coffee-drinking culture. Experience the colorful charm of cutting-edge specialty coffee roasters, as well as a demonstration of the classic Nel drip method still used to this day, the world of stylish, authentic Italian espresso enjoyed standing up, and the pairing of mellow sweets, along with the casual bustle of the local coffee scene that blends seamlessly into the streets. Come and enjoy this never-before-seen fusion of diverse cultural influences!
Satoshi Kasuya (WBrC 2016 Champion/PHILOCOFFEA Owner)
This year's exhibitors are only the most representative specialty coffee shops in modern Japan. We hope you will visit the festival every day, not just one day, and experience the current coffee scene at as many coffee shops as possible. Ginza holds an extremely important place in the history of coffee in Japan. We hope you will enjoy not only specialty coffee, but also coffee that has supported Japan up until now, as well as cutting-edge coffee, with all five senses.
Shun Ogiwara (WAKO COFFEE roaster/YouTuber and book publisher)
I hope that people in their 20s and 30s, like me, will be able to experience the history of Japanese coffee, including its coffee-drinking culture, through this event. The city of Ginza has been at the forefront of watching the transformation of coffee from a "drink" to a "culture." Coffee takes on a deeper meaning when you don't just consider the cup in front of you as the whole world, but also experience the time, ideas, and aesthetic sense that lie behind it. This festival is a uniquely Ginza venue where traditional coffee-drinking culture and modern specialty coffee intersect. I hope that this encounter will broaden your knowledge and spark new interests.
