LUFT TOKYO, a festival of air-cooled Porsches born in California, is approaching on March 14th.

We will introduce the highlights of the Porsche Museum, a unique event held by Porsche enthusiasts, for Porsche enthusiasts, at a special venue on the Tokyo Expressway KK Line, which was closed last year and is currently inaccessible.

◾️A competition of racing Porsches including five 956s and 962s

Legendary racing machines that graced the Japanese racing scene will be featured, including the 904 (Photo 1), which won the 2nd Japan GP in 1964, and the 910 (Photo 2), which came in second at the 5th Japan GP in 1968.
The highlight will be the gathering of five 956s and 962s, including the TRUST ISEKI Porsche 956 (Photo 3), which was active in the 1984 All Japan Endurance Championship, and the two Advan Alpha 962Cs that the late Kunimitsu Takahashi drove to win the All Japan Championship from 1985 to 1987 (Photo 4) and in 1989 (Photo 5).
This will be the first time that such a large number of 956s and 962s have been gathered together since the end of Group C in 1993.

◾️The Porsche 356 beloved by the famous actor Ken Takakura is here

More than 30 356s, which can be said to be the origin of Porsche, which started in 1948, will be on display, from Pre-A to SC.
Among the cars on display will be the 356A1600S Cabriolet (Photo 6) that was purchased new by Japan's leading actor, Takakura Ken, and the 356SC (Photo 7) that was used by actor Yana Nobuo for over 20 years from when it was new, all of which will remain on display with their original license plates.

◾️Enjoy the KK Line, which is normally off-limits, from day to night.

At LUFT TOKYO, once you purchase an electronic ticket, you can enter and exit freely on the day.
Taking advantage of the excellent location in Ginza, Tokyo, we recommend coming back after dining, shopping, or watching a movie in the area around the venue.
Of course, the KK Line offers a refreshing and beautiful view during the day (Photo 8), but we recommend you enjoy the ever-changing scenery of the KK Line as it turns into evening and night (Photo 9).

◾️A collection of rare Porsches, from police cars to the first car imported to Japan

Another feature of LUFT TOKYO is that it brings together a variety of models related to Japan, not just racing cars. For example, this is a rare opportunity to see the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Porsche 912 patrol car (Photo 10), a pioneer of Japanese "sports cars/patrol cars" that was donated to the Kanagawa Prefectural Police in 1968 and played an active role; the first Porsche 930 Turbo imported to Japan (Photo 11), an idol for young supercar enthusiasts; the Porsche 959, a supercar known for its cutting-edge technology, including 4WD and air-to-water twin-turbo; and the Nine Ten Porsche 993 RSR (Photo 12), which competed in the 1998 All Japan GT Championship and has been beautifully restored in recent years.

◾️Don't miss the legendary machines that have adorned Japan's custom scene!

From wild and outlaw tuned Porsches that have left their mark on the night streets to world-class custom and tuned Porsches such as RUF and Singer, the event will feature machines that are rarely seen anywhere else.
Of particular interest are the RUF BTR "NATO" (Photo 13), a prototype used by RUF to test the BTR engine, and the Japanese-made custom Porsche MADLANE 935ML (Photo 14), which was crowned the 2025 champion at ULTRACE, Europe's largest custom car show. In addition to these, the Tokyo Expressway KK Line will also be home to a variety of air-cooled Porsches of various years and types, making it worthy of being called a "one-day only Porsche museum."
