Period: April 15, 2026 (Wed) – April 12, 2027 (Mon), Venue: Yamaha Ginza Store
Yamaha Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") will hold a special exhibition showcasing the appeal of acoustic pianos, along with the tradition and technology of piano making that the Company has cultivated over many years, from Wednesday, April 15, 2026 to Monday, April 12, 2027, in the brand experience area on the first floor of its flagship store, Yamaha Ginza Store (7-9-14 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo).
The brand experience area on the first floor of the Yamaha Ginza store offers a variety of exhibits, concerts, and live performances that propose new encounters with sound and music. The various events held in the open space facing Ginza Street are popular not only with customers visiting the store but also with many people who visit the Ginza area.
This project will showcase the traditional craftsmanship passed down through our more than 120-year history of piano making, as well as our continuously evolving innovative technologies, through exhibits such as the Yamaha Piano 100th Anniversary commemorative grand piano "C3 Centennial" (released in 2000) and panel displays. Furthermore, we will hold 20 mini-concerts featuring pianists on the "C3 Centennial" during the event, and will also provide opportunities for anyone to freely play, offering a chance to experience the sound of a live acoustic piano.

1. Yamaha Piano Manufacturing 100th Anniversary Commemorative Model Grand Piano "C3 Centennial"
This special edition model (sold for a limited time in 2000) combines the luxurious and elegant style of the European Louis dynasty with our company's traditional woodworking techniques. The main finish uses understated American walnut, while the decorative finish employs the rare Claro walnut. Furthermore, the keyboard cover, music stand, and side panels feature noble rose floral inlay and elegant cord inlay, designed by our company's design laboratory, applied using traditional woodworking and painting techniques. In terms of playability, it boasts a transparent sound, a fresh harmonic quality in the mid-to-high range, and high expressive power thanks to its wide dynamic range.
2. Materials and technologies that support sound creation
The exhibition features a raw spruce log (approximately 900mm in diameter, estimated to be over 200 years old) used for the soundboard, the source of a piano's resonance, as well as a model (action model) that helps visitors understand how the hammers strike the strings when the keys are pressed, and 15 types of specialized tools actually used by piano tuners to produce beautiful tones. Visitors can learn about the origins of the piano and the process by which sound and resonance are created while having fun.
3. Columns to help you understand pianos and choose the right one.
The panel display offers information to help you gain a deeper understanding of the piano's appeal, including anecdotes about pianos, explanations of the various parts that make up an acoustic piano, Yamaha's unique sound-making technology, and the design philosophy and craftsmanship incorporated into the latest grand piano models, "C3X espressivo" and "C2X espressivo" (to be released in March 2026).
4. Mini-concert featuring the "C3 Centennial" grand piano
During this period, we will be holding 20 mini-concerts by young pianists. You can enjoy lively performances using the "C3 Centennial" up close.
*Scheduled to be held sequentially from June; details will be posted on the event website.
5. Experience playing the "C3 Centennial" grand piano
The "C3 Centennial" is open to everyone to play. It features a 25-screen multi-large display that changes in sync with your performance, creating an impressive and immersive musical experience where sound and visuals are seamlessly integrated.
