Established 222 years ago, Ginza Matsuzaki Senbei Main Store | MATSUZAKI SHOTEN has relocated and reopened in Kobikicho.

A new base will be opened on May 7th, "Flour Day".

Since its founding in the late Edo period, Ginza Matsuzaki Senbei has continued its business through the passage of time from Edo to Tokyo. Now, the company is relocating its main store and establishing a new base in Ginza 3-chome, Chuo-ku, and will have its grand opening on May 7, 2026, coinciding with "Flour Day."
Up until now, our former main store, "MATSUZAKI SHOTEN," has offered products and experiences that go beyond just rice crackers.
With this relocation, we have further developed this initiative, subtly separating Ginza Matsuzaki Senbei and MATSUZAKI SHOTEN as both brands and spaces, and creating a new salon-like function where people can gather and interact in a relaxed atmosphere.

Ginza Matsuzaki Senbei | About Matsuzaki Shoten Co., Ltd.

Founded in 1804 in Shiba Uoai-zaka, this long-established rice cracker shop moved to Ginza in 1865 and has been in business for over 220 years. Their signature product, made with plenty of eggs and baked with care, is a beloved item that transcends generations.

Background of the relocation

Our former flagship store, which has been operating in Higashi-Ginza since 2021, will be rebuilt due to the aging of the building and rising construction costs.
Consequently, we will be relocating our store.
The new location is in the same Kobikicho Street, in the 3rd block.
The new flagship store is located about a one-minute walk from the old flagship store.
We want to continue welcoming our customers who have visited us in the past, just as we have in the past.
With that in mind, we have decided to take a new step forward in the same Higashi-Ginza area.

Features of the new store

The new store will offer a wide variety of flavors in one place, including the wheat crackers that have been passed down since the company's founding, as well as Soka crackers, arare, and okaki.
Furthermore, at the back of the store, there is a bar space equipped with a kitchen called MATSUZAKI SHOTEN, where we will cultivate a place where people can casually interact with each other through various events.
We propose a new concept: not just a place to buy sweets, but a place to spend time.

MATSUZAKI SHOTEN (Salon)

concept

Our goal is to create a space where a store designed for ease of shopping and a salon where new experiences are born coexist, each fulfilling its own role.
In our stores, we have created an environment where both our existing customers and first-time visitors can easily and comfortably engage with our products.
And further inside, we have a salon where events and conversations can spark new encounters and discoveries.
I hope that this place will open up within the city as a gathering place where people can connect, with tradition and innovation gently resonating with each other.

Comment from the 8th generation, Sohei Matsuzaki

The decision to relocate to Higashi-Ginza in 2021, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, held great significance for both myself and the company.
I feel that my choice was not a mistake.
On the other hand, due to unavoidable circumstances such as the aging of the building and soaring construction costs, we have decided to relocate once again.
We hope that everyone who has loved Matsuzaki Senbei, and everyone who has known us as MATSUZAKI SHOTEN, will continue to visit us at this location in Kobikicho, Higashi-Ginza, as much as possible.
With that in mind, we were able to open a new store just a one-minute walk from our old main store.
With gratitude to everyone who has supported us so far, we will continue to deliver our unchanging taste and new experiences.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you all to our new location.
