Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore and Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore will be holding a fair themed "Summer Time" from July 1st (Wed) to August 31st (Mon), 2026. We will be offering tips for enjoying a comfortable and fulfilling time even during the hot summer, in collaboration with creators and brands from various fields.
As a joint project between Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore and Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore, we will be introducing yukata and kimono from the Dutch sustainable brand "SUSAN BIJL" and kimono enthusiast Sankaku, who boasts a total of 400,000 followers on social media. In addition, we have prepared a variety of projects that take advantage of the unique characteristics of each area and store in Ginza and Kyoto. Enjoy your summer in a way that is unique to this year with items and art that will add color to your everyday life, such as parasols, sunglasses, apparel accessories, and craft gin.

"Sankaku Yukata Recommendation" Fair <br /> This self-produced fair features items that will make summer fashion more enjoyable, focusing on summery accessories by artists introduced in "Sankaku Yukata Recommendation," a yukata introductory book by kimono enthusiast Sankaku, who boasts a total of 400,000 followers, and in the first book, "Sankaku Kimono Recommendation."

Iida Umbrella Shop Summer Umbrella Exhibition <br />The annual Iida Umbrella Shop fair at Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore. Items designed with meticulous attention to detail, from the fabric to the embroidery, are very popular. In addition to parasols, rain umbrellas, and all-weather umbrellas using original textiles, a wide variety of fabric and paper goods will also be available. This year, in commemoration of the publication of the book "Iida Umbrella Shop's Complete Fabric Record," there will also be a window display.

Lacquer artist Kyoko Sasaki: "Lacquer that reflects memories of summer light"
The exhibition features pens, vessels, accessories, and art objects spontaneously painted with lacquer, drawing on memories of summer light and scenery. Each piece is unique, and its color and luster deepen with use, developing into a one-of-a-kind work through the passage of time. Toshiyuki Tatsumi's "Wooden Ballpoint Pen with Lacquer Finish" will also be on display and for sale.

MYUUA POP UP STORE
A pop-up store for "MYUUA," a fashion accessories brand that expresses the charm and culture of the world through embroidery. Under the theme of "A Lustrous Soul," the store offers items that evoke the beauty, loveliness, and borderless allure of the world. We will be showcasing pouches and other items depicting thoughts and landscapes experienced during travels, rendered in vibrant colors and delicate embroidery.

Summer nights and the calming gin (HOLON)
Introducing "HOLON," a craft gin blended with oriental herbs and spices, offering a smooth, low-alcohol taste. Mixed with soda, it provides a refreshing and pleasant flavor, perfect for the hot season. It offers a meditative moment, suggesting a quiet time for self-reflection on a summer night.

JUNYA WATANABE Photo Exhibition "Akihabara, the City of Cinema"
This exhibition commemorates the publication of a new photobook by photographer Junya Watanabe. Focusing primarily on Tokyo at night, the exhibition showcases and sells works capturing the city's most vibrant moments. Through elements such as "rain" and "nightscapes," the exhibition presents scenes that evoke the feeling of summer in the city. The exhibition is primarily composed of prints personally selected by the artist.

MULGA POPUP SHOP IN KYOTO TSUTAYA BOOKS
A pop-up shop by Australian artist Morgana. The shop features art pieces characterized by vivid colors and unique animal motifs, as well as apparel, a variety of goods, and collaborative items with Sanrio characters.

Summer as depicted by Hideki Kimura To coincide with the Gion Festival, a summer tradition in Kyoto, we will be exhibiting and selling works and goods by Hideki Kimura, the "rock mural painter." In addition to new paintings of sunflowers and lotus flowers, symbols of summer, and "Kyoto fans," we will also be exhibiting new paintings featuring Kimura's signature "ascending carp" and the Gion Festival.

In addition to approximately 60,000 books covering a wide range of art fields, and stationery and crafts that can become everyday art pieces, noteworthy contemporary art works are exhibited in art spaces scattered throughout the floors.
