overview
Takuma Fujisaki is an art director and pipe cleaner artist who explores the expressive potential of pipe cleaners, building his own unique visual language with a pop aesthetic. He has held numerous exhibitions and workshops, mainly in Tokyo. This exhibition, "MOLnarrative," traces the trajectory of the artist's unique expression, built over 18 years of earnest engagement with pipe cleaners as a material.
The characters and three-dimensional works created using pipe cleaners, a craft material, evoke a sense of nostalgia and enjoyment in viewers. The exhibition brings together previously created independent objects, creating a space that reconstructs the artist's thoughts, memories, and the atmosphere of the era in which they were made. Throughout the entire space, the boundaries of art, toy culture, and design are crossed, generating new narratives that resonate with the memories and emotions of each individual viewer.

Artist Statement
MOLnarrative is a visual narrative by an artist, woven together using the material of "moles."
A slightly distorted, yet somehow nostalgic world woven by the mall.
The form possesses a strange sense of déjà vu, making you feel as if you've seen it somewhere before.
The familiarity born from a sense of déjà vu and the joy that wells up from the positive colors are the charms of pipe cleaner art. The characters and three-dimensional works created during 18 years of continuous engagement with pipe cleaners are, at the same time, independent objects, but also fragments that contain the thoughts, experiences, memories, and the atmosphere of the era in which they were created. In this exhibition, by reconstructing these timelines as an exhibition, we present not only the trajectory of pipe cleaner art, but also the ever-expanding changes in perspective that one artist has accumulated.
Pop culture, toy culture, design, and art—the unique visual language nurtured by traversing these boundaries resonates with the memories and emotions of each viewer, giving rise to new narratives.
