program

<Main Installation>

Based on the concept of "INVISIBLE – A signal of River –," and with the theme of "making the invisible visible," this public art project fuses Tokyo's nightscape with art. The artwork will overlap with the lights of Tokyo after sunset and with structures that retain traces of their past as roads, creating an experience that can only be had here. In addition to an installation that projects historical photographs related to this land, a large-scale art piece measuring approximately 40 meters will appear as a symbol that transcends time and distance, creating art that boldly utilizes the outdoor space in the heart of the city.

<Special Performance>

Towards the end of the event, on November 28th (Sat) and 29th (Sun), we will be performing "SHIODOME SPACE-KK-RAFT," a contemporary circus piece written specifically for this event. It tells a story that begins with the memories of the land, the Shiodome River that once flowed through this area, and the lives of the people who transported timber through it, and moves towards the future, depicted through acrobatic physical expression, as the performers parade through the elevated space together with the audience, illuminating the night.

[About the Roof Park Project]

The Roof Park Project is an initiative by Tokyo Expressway Co., Ltd. based on the concept of "A future created slowly and together," transforming the KK Line, a road exclusively for automobiles, into a place where people can feel excited and have fun. The project was named the "Roof Park Project" with the hope of connecting towns and cities like a "roof" and making it a place open to people like a "park." Taking advantage of the KK Line's unique structure, where the road is built above commercial facilities, the project will redevelop it from a space for cars to a space for people, while preserving the existing way of life in the town.
