The picture book "Mouse's Vest" (published by Poplar Publishing in 1974) is loved by generations. The popular series has sold over 4.9 million copies and currently has 41 volumes, and was created by the husband-and-wife collaboration between author Yoshi Nakae and painter Noriko Ueno. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the birth of this masterpiece, an exhibition entitled "50th Anniversary of the Birth of Mouse's Vest: Yoshi Nakae and Noriko Ueno, A Gift of Imagination" will be held at the Matsuya Ginza 8th Floor Event Square from Wednesday, May 22nd to Monday, June 3rd, 2024.
Approximately 200 pieces of original artwork and rough sketches from all of the works in the Mousekun picture book series will be on display, as well as photo spots with three-dimensional and semi-three-dimensional panels, and an experience corner where you can make your own Mousekun picture book, making this an exhibition the whole family can enjoy.

The picture book series "Mr. Mouse" has been loved by people of all generations and countries. This book introduces the charm of the works in this series, which were created through the collaborative efforts of the husband and wife authors Yoshio Nakae and Noriko Ueno, along with a wealth of photographs taken at the couple's home and studio. In addition, we will introduce their oil paintings, including "The Girl Chico," which has been their life's work since their student days, along with a contribution from picture book author Komako Sakai.

In addition to the items that appear in Nezumi-kun's works, such as Apple and Cheese, this book also touches on the thoughts and philosophies that Nezumi-kun has conveyed, such as Frame, Imagine, and Small.
At the end of the book, there are explanations of the 41 "Mouse Picture Books" by Mouse-kun.
