[Wako, Ginza] “Orishige Mineko Photo Exhibition: Koin 2024” will be held from Thursday, July 4th

Ishikawa-born photographer Orishika Mineko will be holding her third solo exhibition at Wako in three years.

Ginza Wako will be holding the "Orishige Mineko Photo Exhibition: Koin 2024" by photographer Orishige Mineko at the Seiko House Hall (formerly Wako Hall) from Thursday, July 4th to Monday, July 15th.

Photographer Mineko Orishige expresses the fluctuations of the heart through the lens of her camera. She spoke about her thoughts on her third exhibition at Wako in three years.

"Just after the new year, my hometown, Ishikawa Prefecture, was hit by an unexpected devastating earthquake. It was heartbreaking thinking about my friends and acquaintances who were affected. In the midst of all this, the affected areas are working hard towards recovery thanks to support from all over Japan and the world. In this exhibition, with the intention of offering encouragement to the artists involved in traditional crafts in Ishikawa Prefecture who were affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake, we will be exhibiting and selling the portraits and works of the artists from the "Koin" exhibition held at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa in September last year.
Additionally, new motifs will be available for Foil Photography®, which has been well received at past exhibitions at Wako.
In addition, I will be looking back on half my life as an artist and showcasing the photographs I have taken over the years in various countries around the world, using foil photography® and platinum prints."

Portraits that celebrate the rich expressions of traditional craftspeople, the beautiful scenery of his hometown, Ishikawa Prefecture, and impressive scenes from overseas… Orisaku-san talks to nature and releases the shutter at the moment when the rhythm of his mind and the rhythm of nature match.
This will be a rare opportunity to experience the world of "Koin," which expresses a fantastical landscape where the light of memory and reality resonate with each other in a layered way, using a technique called foil photography®, which prints photographs onto gold and silver leaf.

◎Portraits of traditional craft artists from Ishikawa Prefecture will be photographed and set in gold leaf, a global cultural heritage, along with works created by the artists.
