An event to enjoy the hot summer while sharing coolness in “Entertainment Town Hibiya” Tokyo Midtown Hibiya “HIBIYA MID SUMMER 2024” will be held from July 22 (Mon) to September 1 (Sun), 2024

The "KAZAGURUMA GARDEN" will feature around 1,000 colorful pinwheels and mist to cool off in! There will also be an event that brings together Japanese festivals and a workshop where you can make pinwheels out of recycled clear files.

Tokyo Midtown Hibiya will be holding the summer event "HIBIYA MID SUMMER 2024" from Monday, July 22nd to Sunday, September 1st, 2024, offering a fun and ecological way to cool down during the hot summer.

"HIBIYA MID SUMMER 2024" is an event themed around "Japanese Summer" that is full of entertainment elements such as immersiveness and photogenicity, making it a fitting event for Hibiya, the entertainment town, where people can cool off while enjoying the hot summer outdoors.

At the main Hibiya Step Square, the "KAZAGURUMA GARDEN" will be created, with about 1,000 pinwheels, which can be said to be the original scenery of Japanese summer, in a dome shape ! Some of the pinwheels are "eco pinwheels" made from recycled clear files. Combined with the mist production inside the dome, it is an ecological cool share spot* that feels cool both visually and physically. In August , the "Hibiya Oh! MATSURI Stage" will be held, where traditional Japanese performing arts and festivals will come to Hibiya . There will also be a workshop where you can make your own "original pinwheel" using unnecessary clear files. This summer, come to Tokyo Midtown Hibiya and experience the coolness of the "entertainment town Hibiya" and the ecological summer.

・The original Japanese summer scenery! Feel the coolness of about 1,000 colorful pinwheels and mist at "KAZAGURUMA GARDEN"

The "pinwheel" is a Japanese toy with a long history that is said to have been enjoyed since the Heian period, and the sight of the wings spinning in the wind is a visually refreshing sight. This time, about 1,000 pinwheels will be in the shape of a dome and will appear at Hibiya Step Square! You can feel the coolness of the mist at the entrance and inside the dome. The colorful pinwheels are also recommended as a photo spot where yukatas stand out. You can enjoy a photogenic yet entertaining evening coolness. At night, the dome is lit up, creating a fantastic space. In addition, the large staircase area will be illuminated with lights to echo the pinwheels in the square. Enjoy the cool evening coolness while feeling the breeze on a summer evening.

[Office tenants' unnecessary clear files are turned into pinwheels!?]

As part of efforts to reduce waste and promote reuse, we are collecting unused clear files from office tenants at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya and reusing them as decorations to make "eco pinwheels." We plan to use "eco pinwheels" for about 200 pinwheels, which accounts for 1/5 of the total.

"Hibiya Oh! MATSURI Stage"

During the Obon weekend in August, traditional performing arts and festivals from all over Japan come together at Hibiya Step Square. With the Awa Odori dance from Tokushima, Okinawa's Eisa, and Hokkaido's Yosakoi Soran dance, you can experience the atmosphere of summer festivals from all over Japan without even leaving Hibiya.

・[Simultaneous event] This year marks the 12th year! Companies and facilities in the Hibiya area are cooperating to hold the "Entertainment Town Hibiya Uchimizu Month" on weekdays during the period.

The 12th annual "Entertainment Town Hibiya Uchimizu Month" has been decided! During the period, staff working in Hibiya will sprinkle water in front of each facility every day at 17:00, bringing a cool feeling to the streets of Hibiya. On the first day, Monday, July 22nd, an opening ceremony will be held from 16:00. The public can also participate in the sprinkling during the ceremony, so please come along.
