Japan's largest Spanish food festival, the Paella and Tapas Festival, will be held for three days from April 4th (Fri) to 6th (Sun), 2025, at Hibiya Park (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). The National Paella Championship and National Tapas Championship will be held, where visitors will vote to determine the best paella and tapas in Japan. In addition, to commemorate the 10th anniversary, the Valenciana Paella Japan Competition will be held, where paella will be made using the authentic Valencian paella recipe, chicken and rabbit meat, and cooked over a wood fire. Come and experience the fun and delicious world of Spain in the cheerful spring season.

■It's happening again this year! The heated battle to decide the grand prize winners: "National Paella Championship" and "National Tapas Championship"
The main event will determine the top three winners from each championship based on the scores of judges well versed in Spanish cuisine and online votes from visitors. The results will be announced on the final day, Sunday, April 6th. Each restaurant will try and error to come up with paella and tapas that are perfect for the event, with the aim of winning. The winning restaurant will be presented with an original "paella pan trophy" made from a paella pan made for this event.

■ The winning restaurant will be invited to a training session in Spain! "Valenciana Paella Japan Competition"
A national competition will be held for "Valenciana Paella," which is said to be the origin of paella and uses chicken and rabbit. The competition will begin on Friday, April 4th at 9am. Paella pans will be lined up in a row, and the paella will be cooked over "firewood" just like in the real thing. All the paellas will be competed using the same ingredients and equipment, and the competition judges will taste and grade the dishes on the spot. A set that allows customers to compare the flavors of all the participating stores will be sold exclusively to those who are registered members of the Japan Paella Association. (Membership registration is also possible on the day.) The store that wins the grand prize will receive a championship trophy and a "Spain study trip" as a prize from the Japan Paella Association.

The event will feature a large-pot paella prepared by El Tragon's owner chef Yasutake Kurihara, who also serves as Secretary General of the Paella Tapas Festival Executive Committee and Director of the Japan Paella Association. The sight of him cooking 250 servings at once in a large pot with a diameter of 1.5m is a spectacular sight. He will also be showcasing "paella art" decorated with peppers and green beans.
■A game that anyone can participate in for free!
