More than 50 types of sake from Nagano Prefecture's breweries are gathered at this information hub connecting the Tokyo metropolitan area and Nagano
Ginza Nagano, an information hub that promotes the appeal of Nagano Prefecture and connects it to the Tokyo metropolitan area, will hold the Hiyaoroshi Festival, a tasting event featuring over 50 types of Hiyaoroshi, an autumn sake, from Shinshu sake breweries, on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
At this year's Hiyaoroshi Festival, we have invited Azumi Tamaoka, a Nagano Prefecture Sake Brewers Association-certified "Shinshu Local Sake Advisor," to give an easy-to-understand introduction to Hiyaoroshi and sake breweries. All the Hiyaoroshi that you sample will be on sale at Ginza NAGANO, so you can purchase your favorite brand on the spot.
No reservations are required and you can enter and exit as you please during the designated time. We have prepared tickets that allow you to try and compare 5 to 10 different types of "Hiyaoroshi." Please feel free to come and find your favorite flavor.
■About "Hiyaoroshi" "Hiyaoroshi" refers to sake made in winter, pasteurized in spring, stored for aging over the summer, and then bottled and shipped in the fall without being pasteurized again. The careful aging over the summer enhances its mellowness and flavor, making it perfect for enjoying with the flavors of autumn. In Shinshu, the ban on selling "Hiyaoroshi" is lifted on September 9th every year, and it is beloved for its unique flavor that can only be enjoyed at this time of year.
