– The power to love this world – A new experience that awakens the "latent aesthetic sense" of the mind and body. A space that stimulates the senses and allows you to feel the breath of life. The space was designed by world-renowned architect Kazuyo Sejima.
POLA Co., Ltd. will reopen its flagship store, POLA GINZA, on Friday, December 12, 2025.
POLA has always believed in the possibilities that lie within people, guided by its corporate philosophy of "Science. Art. Love." With this renewal, POLA Ginza will be reborn as a place that awakens the sense of beauty that lies deep within the skin and the heart, and allows customers to freely access and liberate themselves.
This new experience was created together with a diverse group of artists, including some of Japan's leading artists: architect Kazuyo Sejima, musician Keiichiro Shibuya, lighting designer Shozo Toyohisa, and olfactory artist Kan Izumi. Through this collaboration, we will provide a space and services that stimulate all senses and even cultivate the power to love the world.

POLA GINZA
1F-COSMETICS
Visitors are welcomed into the symbolic Flora Forest on the first floor.
The imperfectly symmetrical heptagonal pillars connect the inside and outside worlds, quietly harboring the fluctuations that nurture life, and support the leisurely flow of time at POLA Ginza. Wrapped in soft, comfortable light that pours in from every wall, a pleasant sound resonates, ever changing. It is a once-in-a-lifetime art form, constantly changing. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this space stimulates all of your senses and encourages self-reflection. There, you can discover POLA products that will open the door to a new side of yourself.
B1F-ESTHETIC
The organic space continues from the 1st floor to the basement level. Each floor is completely private, filled with soft light, the warmth of the earth, and fragrances that evoke the feeling of sunlight filtering through the trees. As you feel as if you are embraced by nature, your journey to the "latent beauty" of your mind and body begins.
Using Pola Chemical Industries' proprietary technology, "Resense Scan," the treatment analyzes your current condition through facial video and other methods, visualizing it. Beginning with counseling tailored to your mood and physical sensations, the treatment includes facial care using an original mask, warming body care using radio waves, and a foot bath in a private room to warm your feet. Experience a treatment that alternates between pleasant stimulation and deep relaxation.
Overall space produced by architect Kazuyo Sejima
"Flora Forest: Discover a new you"
POLA's new space is a new forest-like garden, enveloped in blooming flora (Latin for flowers or plants). The flora casts shadows on the walls and moves slowly, like breathing. When people step into this space, they are suddenly welcomed into a flora time that is slightly different from the usual flow of time. As they wander through the soft, dimly lit, and comfortable light, each person can enjoy a leisurely dialogue with themselves and discover a new side of themselves.
Music is born as this space breathes. The ever-changing sounds and the hints of light come together, creating a special experience that is exclusive to those who are there at that moment.
Beneath Flora Forest lies a tranquil space that supports the forest. In this tranquil space, created by the sounds of the forest's whispers, the light of your everyday life shines in from afar, leading you on a deeper journey of self-liberation.

Music and Sound Producer: Musician Keiichiro Shibuya
Sound installation Abstract Music POLA version
"Abstract Music" is a generative sound installation created with the premise of integrating with diverse environments such as architecture, nature, art, and public spaces.
My own vast amount of sound data is combined in real time by the program, processed, transformed and constantly changing, so that no two moments are ever the same.
This time, I was inspired by the new, organic, virtual forest-like space created by Sejima, and produced all of the music and sound. The sound moves freely through the space, constantly changing shape like clouds, wind, or a membrane.
Sometimes multiple layers of sound spread out, sometimes a single sound fills the space, and sometimes silence falls.
There is no traditional background music or playlist in this space. This permanently installed sound installation is the only musical presence, continually generating new sounds as part of the space. We hope that the infinitely changing music and the whispers echoing through the virtual forest will open the door to new perceptions for all who visit this space.

Lighting Producer: Lighting Designer Shozo Toyohisa
All of the walls that envelop this forest-like space emit a soft glow, with a certain wavelength of light and its opposite phase blending together. The sight, which never looks the same for even a moment, awakens a variety of physical sensations in the visitors, accompanied by a sense of atmosphere.
In this never-before-experienced, inseparable transition of comfortable light and darkness, what if light could sense mist-like mass and become a sublimated entity? Through the interaction between the eyes and brain, we have created a soft light that brings moisture to the mind and skin.

Olfactory Artist Kan Izumi, Director of Olfactive Studio Ne
We designed two opposing scents to accompany new experiences. The structure was inspired by the idea of "going back and forth between discomfort and stability," which is important to this space. As you travel back and forth between different worlds, your inner senses and aesthetic sense are gradually refined – we wanted to support this experience with fragrance.
The first is a fragrance that symbolizes POLA today, born from the intersection of different elements: science and craftsmanship, serenity and stimulation. The second is a fragrance that quietly awakens one's senses while being enveloped in the warmth of plants and earth and the serenity of memory. Together with the production of sound and light, the olfactory layer supports the spatial experience in three dimensions, gently touching each individual's memories and sensibilities.

Olfactive Studio Ne
This studio designs fragrances based on the concept of "a scent that seems to have been there from the beginning." They view scents as information that reveals the origin of the subject, and through extensive research and synchronization, they select appropriate materials and create fragrances. The studio's name, "Ne," comes from Nez, which means perfumer in France, the home of perfume. We are not limited to the field of perfumery, but aim to create fragrances that take root in the world through crossover.
Kan Izumi, Artist / Director of Olfactive Studio Ne <br /> An artist whose work centers on reviving physical senses through scent. He studies plant production, distillation, and raw materials, and creates works inspired by the five senses. In parallel with his work as an artist, he launched Olfactive Studio Ne, a studio that designs fragrances. Working with his team, he is expanding the possibilities of the world expressed through scent, directing projects that transcend the realm of perfumery.
