[LOEWE] Japan’s largest new Casa Loewe opens in Ginza

New Casa Loewe opens in Ginza

Loewe opened Casa Loewe Ginza on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
The largest store in Japan and the second largest in the world is located in Ginza's most iconic location, at the intersection of Chuo-dori and Miyuki-dori. The four-floor, 965-square-meter store offers a full range of women's and men's clothing, bags, shoes, jewelry, eyewear, soft accessories, fragrances, home scents, candles, and leather goods. To coincide with the opening, the new Flip hammock will also be released in a store-exclusive colorway, Light Ghost.

Rooted in Casa Loewe's design concept of combining the intimacy of an art collector's residence with sophisticated retail space, the store showcases a fusion of Spanish sensibilities and Japanese design. The unique, handcrafted muddy green ceramic tiles reflect light and feature irregular glaze textures and subtle recesses, creating a shift in color. This deep, muddy green evokes Ginza's past as a low-lying marshland at the tip of Edomaejima. The exterior ceramic tiles are seamlessly integrated into the interior, adding color and brilliance to the concrete space. Various marbles, including Ancient Green, Cristallo Iceberg, Pinta Verde, and Sahara Brown, are scattered throughout the store. Brass window frames evoke Ginza's alternate past as a mint center where silver and gold coins were actively produced. A central staircase, surrounded by green ceramic tiles and featuring carefully handcrafted wooden handrails, curves vertically across all four floors. Natural light fills the space, enhancing the rich texture of the stone, wood, ceramic and concrete.

The fourth floor offers new experiences unique to Casa Loewe Ginza, including a fragrance and home scents area where you can experience Loewe's nature-inspired bath line, and a dedicated gifting and personalization area where you can customize your products with charms and mini bags.

The world's first gift counter will also feature traditional Spanish sweets such as palmeras, polvorons, and chocolate. To celebrate the opening, the gift counter will also be selling special cookies by Japanese icing cookie artist Fiocco for a limited time.

The furnishings bring a warm and inviting atmosphere to the store. George Nakashima's Mirra and Cushion chairs and Gerrit Thomas Rietveld's Utrecht armchairs contrast with the delicate design of Isamu Noguchi's Akari E pendant lamp. Signature Loewe designs include a voluptuous leather bench, a black iron martini table, and a burnt wood podium. New to the space is the Loewe Recrafted coffee table, born from a quest for sustainability and innovation. Crafted from 95% recycled leather surplus from Loewe's atelier, the one-of-a-kind table celebrates the beauty of materials given new life. Beneath the rug, custom-woven in Spain, the carpet reinterprets bright, abstract tapestries by British textile designer John Allen, including "Orkney Landscape Sunset" and "Autumn in Orkney."

Casa Loewe Ginza displays Loewe's collection of art, crafts, and design from around the world across four floors. Highlights include two lamps that Loewe unveiled at Milan Salone 2024. Anthea Hamilton's Kimono Lamp, a luminous garment-like piece made from lacquered wood and frosted glass, is on display on the first floor. Cerith Wyn Evans' neon work hangs from the ceiling on the fourth floor and can be seen through the windows from outdoors. Other works on display include those by Lucie Rie, Elliot Hodgkin, Hilton Nel, Ovidiu Maitek, and Albert York. Works by Japanese artists are also displayed throughout the store. The anamorphic ceramic work "Realm of Living Things 19" by Kunimasa Aoki, winner of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2025, is placed on a second-floor window sill, while bamboo artist Hafu Matsumoto's leather piece "Basket 6" blends traditional techniques with contemporary artistry. Additionally, Kazunori Hamana's textured ceramic vase, created in collaboration with kintsugi master Yukiko Kuroda, embodies the spirit of Japanese restoration techniques.
