Wako Ginza will be holding the "Moonscapes: Takagi Atsuto Calligraphy Exhibition" at the Seiko House Hall from Thursday, March 5th to Sunday, March 15th, 2026, featuring works by Takagi Atsuto, a kana calligrapher and special member of the Nitten Exhibition Association.
Saigyo entrusted his feelings about the moon to many waka poems. Its tranquil light and the lingering emotions that resonate deep in the heart speak to us across time. Takagi has projected Saigyo's poetic sentiment into the modern era, using the supple lines of kana calligraphy and the skillful use of white space. "I tried to write as I am, so I put my all into each piece. I took up my brush in the hope of depicting such a scene in each of my works. They are still a work in progress, but I hope that everyone will enjoy viewing them while imagining the scenery," says Takagi.
Please come and enjoy a moment enveloped in the clear moonlight at the venue.
