·Overview

Hiroki Saito creates paper-cutting works centered on works with landscape motifs. At first glance, he specializes in realistic and detailed depictions that look like photographs or paintings rather than paper cutouts. While using the old-fashioned technique of paper-cutting, we pursue reality and cut out the actual landscape and the present world with elaborate techniques.

Saito's work, which is realistic but has a nostalgic and fantastic atmosphere with the unique color texture and black lines of paper, has captured the hearts of many people, and when posting the work on SNS, 50,000 likes. I also got it.
In 2019, he won the Nagano Prefectural Craft Art Exhibition Encouragement Award in the first year of Reiwa, and has been featured in media such as television and magazines.

In this exhibition "Travel Guide", we will exhibit 20 works including 9 new works with the theme of "Encounter at the destination, somewhere fascinating scenery".
Using delicate cutting techniques, he created a work that evokes the memory of the viewer's journey and reminds us of a nostalgic foreign country. In this work, we created a bright and fantastic view of the world by combining paper colored by ourselves with poster colors and acrylic paint and Japanese paper called "Unryu Paper".

In addition to works, goods such as postcards, mugs, and clear files are also on sale. It will be sold in stores and online.
Please take this opportunity to enjoy the world of paper-cutting works by Hiroki Saito.

・ Writer's comment

It's a world where you can't easily go on a trip, but I made works that make you feel like you're on a trip, and works that make you want to go on a trip after the world has settled down.
The work itself is not modeled on famous places in each region, but is mainly created with a fascinating scenery that you will meet while traveling.
Please enjoy while thinking about the memories of your past trips and the places you want to go on your trip.
