At Whitestone Gallery Ginza Shinkan, a solo exhibition by female painter Wu Shan, "Lustrous Continuum" (English title: Lustrous Continuum) will be held from July 22nd (Friday) to August 27th (Saturday), 2022. We will hold it. You can enjoy Wu Shan's first solo exhibition in Japan at both the gallery venue and the online exhibition.

・ About the exhibition

Wu Shan, who is constantly evolving, has pursued abstract expressionism and has fascinated viewers with his vivid colors, brushstrokes, and surrealistic worldviews. Wu Shan's color plane composition, in which the luminescent pigment, which is one of the mediums, emphasizes the intensity of the color and shows a chaotic yet exquisite harmony. Up until now, we have focused on human beings in relation to nature and the environment, but in this exhibition, our interest has shifted to the natural environment and a wider range of "life itself." Phenomena that occur in humans transcend the physical body, and emotional swells such as recollection and introspection are integrated while competing with the rippling space-time of rich glow. Wu Shan's paintings evoke the styles of various eras in fragments, but what is projected is the current state of the world.

Wu Shan was born in China in 1986. After graduating from the Kunsthochschule University of the Arts (Germany), he graduated from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute oil painting department in 2009, and then studied as a trainee at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He is still based in Beijing. In addition to holding solo exhibitions at the Enjoy Museum of Art in Beijing, he has also exhibited at the Beijing Hyundai Museum and has been well received. At Mercedes-Benz International Fashion Week, he has collaborated for three consecutive years and has been attracting attention from various fields. Many collections in many collectors and organizations in Japan and overseas.

Born in Chongqing in 1986. A young artist working on abstract expressionism. He studied at the Kunsthochschule University of the Arts in 2007, graduated from the oil painting department of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2009, and then studied as a trainee at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. Since then, he has been active in Beijing as a professional artist.
Wu's work is very interesting, specializing in color usage, especially high-purity, high-contrast colors, mixing a number of seemingly contrasting bright colors, but they are in harmony. In addition, the work has a deep and expansive emotion that everyone can sympathize with, which is a feature not often seen in Chinese female artists. At first glance, her work, which looks open-minded, reflects meticulous calculation and rationality. Her work is adventurous and continues to fascinate people of all ages. Due to its unique style, it has collaborated with famous brands such as Mercedes-Benz and China Fashion Week for the third consecutive year, and exhibitions in Japan are also actively held.
