The "Tokyo TDC Award 2022", an international award for graphic design centered on the visual expression of characters, received 1788 works from Japan and 1856 works from overseas, for a total of 3644 works.
As a result of rigorous screening by 35 selection committee members, 514 works including 11 award-winning works and 77 nominated works will be selected and will be published in the Design Yearbook published this fall.
We are holding an annual exhibition to see the results of this award.
Exhibits about 130 world-leading graphics, including award-winning and nominated works.
This year too, we have a collection of wonderful works that are topical.

Grand Prix ① Keita Onishi "Masterpiece Album + Requiem / Composed by Cardoso"
A video work created for a program in which a video creator visualizes a classic masterpiece.

Book Design Award ② Actual Source, Davis Ngarupe & JP Haynie (USA) "20th Century Women Screenplay Book"
Book005 from the A24 Screenplay Collection. A screen playbook of the movie written and directed by Mike Mills.

Type Design Award ③ Jean François Porchez (France) "Altesse"
A typeface of letters carved by a French copperplate sculptor from the 19th century to the 20th century.

RGB Award ④ Issei Kitagawa + Semitransparent Design "3 & bC Website"
"3 & bC is agnostic." A website that displays the maximum product size according to the device size.

TDC Award ⑤ Grilli Type, Thierry Blancpain & Noël Leu (Switzerland) "Grilli Type"
Influence from Japanese visual culture. A website that introduces the typeface "GT Maru".

⑥ LOW sek-vai (China) "The Curtain Rises & Fall"
A poster for the exhibition of book designer Luo, who exhibited the results of independently published books.

⑦ Yutaka Sato "Box"
A graphic trial work drawn with a gel ink ballpoint pen in a matchbox-sized white box.

⑧ Noriaki Hayashi "Joshibi University of Art and Design"
Image posters for high schools and art prep schools nationwide.

⑨ COLLINS, Louis Mikolay & Erik Berger Vaage (USA) "San Francisco Symphony Rebrand"
VI design that defines and expresses a new vision for the reform of the San Francisco Symphony, which has a history of 108 years.

Special Award ⑩ Kazunari Hattori "Nakajo NAKAJO"
Kaoru Kasai, the publisher of ADP, participates in the editorial board. A 640-page collection of works by Masayoshi Nakajo arranged in chronological order.

⑪ Taku Sato "Taku Sato Exhibition MILK"
An exhibition of attempts to cut out the milk package design that I designed as art.

The ginza graphic gallery is a specialized gallery of graphic design and is nicknamed "three ggg" from the three acronyms g. In 1986, Dainippon Printing Co., Ltd., which has a close relationship with graphic design, established ggg in Ginza, the place of establishment and the mecca of art galleries, as part of its cultural activities, and held exhibitions and lectures. We continue publishing activities such as gggBooks and provide many people with the opportunity to meet the wonderfulness of graphic design.
