Yamaha Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “our company”) is holding an event “Let’s make, play, and play with sounds! will be held from August 25th (Friday) to 27th (Sunday), 2023. At this event, we have prepared a variety of hands-on projects that allow you to interact with musical instruments and sounds so that you can feel closer to the sustainability of wood resources that we are working on.

In the brand experience area on the 1st floor of the Yamaha Ginza store, a “handmade caster network shop” will be held. You can experience handmade castanets using "unused wood" from wood collected in the process of manufacturing wooden parts for musical instruments and material research. In addition, at the Yamaha Ginza Studio on the second basement floor, you can experience a “virtual string quartet and piano ensemble”, “instrument building blocks”, and “handmade coasters”. You can make castanets by hand using unused wood from the process of manufacturing wooden parts for musical instruments and material research. Through the experience, you can enjoy learning about the characteristics and individuality of each tree, and the connection between musical instruments and trees. In the second half of the workshop, you will be able to play the completed castanets with piano accompaniment.

・Virtual ensemble of string quartet and piano

When you play a simple melody on the piano, such as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," you can experience an ensemble experience with an automatic piano accompaniment and a gorgeous virtual string quartet performance by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra on the panel screen. Even those who are new to the piano can easily experience the fun of ensembles with our AI ensemble technology, automatic playing piano Disklavier™, and guide lamps that indicate the keys to be played.

– Building blocks for musical instruments <br /> The shapes and sizes of unused wood are all different. By combining them, you can create only one work in the world, and you can take a commemorative photo of your work home.

・Handmade coaster <br /> You can freely decorate the round wooden board that is cut out when cutting out the sound hole of the guitar. One piece per person can be taken home.
