Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore (Chuo-ku, Tokyo), Roppongi Tsutaya Bookstore (Minato-ku, Tokyo), and Ebetsu Tsutaya Bookstore (Ebetsu City, Hokkaido) will sequentially hold the "Kurahashi Rei 2027 Calendar Reproduction Original Art Exhibition 'Creatures'" by illustrator Kurahashi Rei, starting from Thursday, October 1, 2026.
Rei Kurahashi, whose delicate brushwork evokes a sense of nostalgia and her adorable motifs have garnered widespread support, will be exhibiting and selling her works, primarily those created for her 2027 calendar, under the theme of "living creatures." Her art collections and related books will also be available for viewing.
In addition, to commemorate this exhibition, Tsutaya Bookstore will be selling original merchandise. We have prepared items that allow you to enjoy the world of Kurahashi Rei's work in your daily life, such as magnets and Kutani ware plates featuring the popular "girl" motif from her works. Illustrator and picture book author. Active in a wide range of fields, including illustrations for picture books and books, and illustrations for miscellaneous goods. Her picture books include "Remy's Drawer" (Shogakukan), "The King's Sweets" (Sekai Bunka Publishing), the "Toto the Kitten" series (Hakusensha), "What Should I Wear Today?" (KADOKAWA), and others such as "Letter Book," "Rei Kurahashi Rei Works Collection" (Sekai Bunka Publishing), "Kurahashi Rei's Dreamy Doll Clothes" (Boutique-sha), "366 Flower Children," and "366 Color Children" (Alice-kan). She lives in Gifu Prefecture.
