Exhibition by four glass artists
At the Seiko House Hall in Ginza Wako, a group exhibition will be held from July 3rd (Thurs) to July 13th (Sun) with the theme of "Admiring with a Heartfelt Touch" featuring four glass craft artists, Akiba Aya, Kawakita Tomoka, Motoki Yoko, and Yamazaki Yo.
Akiba Aya expresses the little joys she feels in her daily life through core glass and burner work techniques, as if she were collecting treasures.
Tomoka Kawakita also uses the core glass technique to create works that use familiar plants and flowers as motifs, while being conscious of the transparency of frosted glass and its relationship with light.
Yoko Motoki carves designs into blown glass using sandblasting, then applies multiple layers of enamel paint to create a colorful world with depth. Her works are appealing as they capture the changing of the seasons and the fleeting sparkle of life of living creatures in the glass.
Yamazaki Yo, who is attracted to the quiet obsession with life in familiar plants and animals, captures moments that move her heart with enamel paint on transparent glass that she has blown herself.
This exhibition will bring together beautiful and adorable palm-sized pieces, such as lidded containers, vessels, objet d'art, obi clasps, glass beads, and more, each of which is infused with the artist's individual thoughts. Please come and see the many small treasures that will add color to your daily life.
