A group exhibition “EPOCH – You Were Here.” by KAZUSA MATSUYAMA, Ryosuke Misawa, and Ryoten Ogata will be held at Ginza Mitsukoshi.

From Wednesday, July 9th to Monday, August 4th, 2025, three artists who are renowned both in Japan and overseas will be exhibiting and selling their works, including new works, on the second floor of the Ginza Mitsukoshi Main Building.

Embedded Blue Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Sho Kataoka), an artist agency and art project design company, will hold a group exhibition by three up-and-coming artists, "EPOCH – You Were Here.", on the second floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi Main Building from Wednesday, July 9th to Monday, August 4th, 2025.

“EPOCH – You Were Here.”

This exhibition was planned as a "prologue" that heralds a renewal of the history of society and art.
Artists today are reexamining the role that painting can play and visual language, casting a new perspective on society.

"EPOCH" refers to the reference time used in astronomy to determine the positions of celestial bodies.
This group exhibition is conceived as a place to record the artists' current location, to serve as a coordinate system for contemplating their future trajectory, and to project signs of change that are emerging in our ever-changing times.

"You Were Here."
We believe that this exhibition will function as a "record of the beginning" for the works and the people involved.

We look forward to your viewing.

Kazusa Matsuyama

Born in Tokyo in 1992. He creates the Anonymous Portraits series, which uses distorted facial expressions and abstract depictions to pursue not only the outward expressions of joy, anger, sorrow, and praise, but also the beauty hidden in the essence. Each work is expressed in a way that leaves room for imagination and allows different feelings and interpretations depending on the viewer. In recent years, he has held solo exhibitions and participated in art fairs in Japan, the United States, Korea, and Taiwan, and has expanded the scope of his activities, providing works for Rolls Royce events, and is active both domestically and internationally.

Ryosuke Misawa

Born in 1992. Graduated from Rikkyo University's Department of Visual and Physical Studies. After working as a photographer, he began working as a contemporary artist in 2020. He uses a variety of contemporary media. He creates works using his own method called "media paradox," and by observing universal phenomena, he represents the beauty of this world.

Ogata Shouten

A painter, he observes natural landscapes, mainly oceans and forests, and creates paintings based on the images and numerical data he records.
His works are created in a way that distances the creator's subjectivity as much as possible through a methodological process that transforms observational records as objective facts into artworks based on pre-defined production rules. In addition to painting, he also creates digital works that cross with technology and physical performance works, depicting nature in parallel across a variety of media.
