[Ginza Wako] “Shioko Fukumoto – Indigo Sea” will be held from Thursday, November 27th

The first exhibition by indigo dyeing artist Shioko Fukumoto at Wako

Wako Ginza will be holding its first exhibition at Wako, "Fukumoto Shioko – Sea of Indigo," featuring works by Shioko Fukumoto, an internationally acclaimed artist known for exploring the profound expression of indigo dyeing, at the Seiko House Hall from Thursday, November 27th to Sunday, December 7th.
The world created by natural materials such as cotton and linen and Fukumoto's ingenious indigo touches the hearts of those who see it.
"The most beautiful indigo in the world is Japanese indigo. Its distinctive feature is its rich gradation of blue," says Fukumoto. Please come and enjoy the eye-catching "Indigo Sea" with its beautiful gradation of Japan Blue at the venue.

Artist will be present on: November 27th (Thurs), 29th (Sat), 30th (Sun), December 6th (Sat), 7th (Sun)

"Cotton fishing nets can be dyed deeply with indigo, creating beautiful gradations reminiscent of the shoreline. However, cotton and linen fishing nets were replaced by plastic several decades ago, making it impossible to dye them with indigo," says Fukumoto.
250 meters of fishing net will be dyed and exhibited.
