Artglorieux GALLERY OF TOKYO, an art gallery operated by Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Store on the 5th floor of GINZA SIX, will host a joint exhibition by Sojiro Takamura and Daisuke Funaki, who will unravel the often-perceived complexities of contemporary art from their unique perspective, showcasing their work through both painting and sculpture.

Date: April 2, 2026 (Thursday) – April 8, 2026 (Wednesday)
Opening hours: 10:30 AM – 8:30 PM (closing at 6:00 PM on the last day)

In recent years, contemporary art has become popular worldwide, yet it is often said to be incomprehensible. Sojiro Takamura, however, intuitively expresses this complex art form as contemporary art without straying from painting, using traditional techniques and methods that are characteristic of Japanese craftsmanship and dexterity.
In recent years, they have attracted attention with their Cup Noodles series, which is reminiscent of Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup, and have been actively involved in events such as the Kudoyama Art Festival and Art Fair Tokyo.

Meanwhile, Daisuke Funaki, a graduate of Tohoku University of Art and Design, has received high acclaim for his three-dimensional works created in pursuit of new possibilities in human figure sculpture. His work includes participation in the Japan Media Arts Festival, the largest art event held in Japan, and he develops expressions rich in contemporary irony while emphasizing his Japanese identity.
In addition, she has attracted attention for her efforts in promoting art in Japan, including publishing magazines, making guest appearances on radio programs, and establishing the art studio "Petite-Poupée."

This exhibition will feature a joint show by two promising artists, each showcasing their unique artistic expression through painting and sculpture.
