The Grand Prix chair reborn with a new look due to the sensitivity of Fritz Hansen and White Mountaineering. An installation that reproduces the "forest" associated with the chair appears on the 1st floor of the Strasburgo Ginza store. The plant installation was produced by Nikolai Bergman Flower & Design, headed by Danish flower artist Nikolai Bergman. You can experience the healing space for a limited time until August 17th (Monday). This is your chance to see the collector's items limited to 300 in real life. Prior to the September release, advance reservations are also being accepted.

This chair was born by sympathizing with the attitude of creating designs from materials, Fritz Hansen approached Yosuke Aizawa, the representative of the emerging fashion brand White Mountaineering. Open the horizons of new furniture design from a fashion perspective.

Mr. Aizawa is also a furniture collector and has been using fine furniture made mainly of wood and leather for a long time. He chose to collaborate on the Grand Prix chair, the masterpiece of Arne Jacobsen. I realized the possibility by associating with the mountain, which is also the brand motif of white mountaineering. Of the many chairs designed by Jacobsen, the Grand Prix chair is the only item with the current wooden legs.

For the upholstery fabric, Kawashima Textile Cercon made a jacquard fabric with a characteristic parquet design that Mr. Aizawa has been using as a motif for shop interior since the brand was established. Using the elaborate creation of parquet and the weave that gives a fine expression, we finished the color and texture to match the color of the wooden legs.
The parquet pattern represents a respect for Japanese craftsmanship, symbolizing the commitment of white mountaineering materials to the materials, and echoes the traditional craftsmanship of Kawashima Textile Cercon, which weaves the fabric. In collaboration with the two parties, Fritz Hansen, who holds craftsmanship as one of the brand values, has created a new look at the Grand Prix chair that has been making for over 60 years.

The sensibilities of Denmark and Japan have been wonderfully combined, and a design was born that corresponds to Mr. Aizawa's style that brings out the characteristics of the material.

It is a rare chair with only 300 chairs in Asia. We will start the over-the-counter exhibition at an authorized distributor in Asia from September 2020, but we are accepting advance reservations prior to that. If you would like to pre-order, please contact your local authorized dealer.

Strasbourg
STRASBURGO
The specialty store "Strasburgo" was founded in 1990. The concept is to identify the essence of manufacturing without depending on the so-called symbol mark. Since then, in activities spanning more than a quarter of a century, under the slogan of "STRASBURGO QUALITY", from luxury dress clothing to fresh casual wear, we have come across beautiful, interesting, and exciting things that are unknown from all over the world. I have introduced it to everyone in Japan. And in recent years, what we are putting more effort than ever before is the development of original products from Strasbourg. It is a project to create a "masterpiece for the Japanese" that only Strasbourg, who has been looking at the world's best products, goes beyond the idea of a shop original. Please look forward to the many unprecedented wardrobes that give you both empathy and surprise.
