Limited time performance from June 8th (Sat) to June 24th (Mon)
At the Art Aquarium Museum GINZA (located at Ginza Mitsukoshi), you can enjoy a unique rainy season display from Saturday, June 8th to Monday, June 24th, in conjunction with Umbrella Day on Tuesday, June 11th. During the display, you can enjoy a collaboration between hydrangeas and Japanese umbrellas in the work "New Goldfish Appraisal," where you can admire goldfish from above!
The currently ongoing early summer project "Fragrant Breeze, Wisteria and Hydrangeas, Early Summer Goldfish" (until Monday, June 24th) features a fantastical hydrangea arch decorated with Japanese umbrellas in the "Paper Lantern Rium," and a "Goldfish Stone Lantern" decorated with hydrangeas. The hydrangeas that bloom beautifully during the rainy season create an elegant space where you can take your time appreciating goldfish art even on rainy days.
Umbrella Day
June 11th is "Umbrella Day." The Japan Umbrella Promotion Council, which was founded in March 1963, designated this day, which marks the beginning of the rainy season on the calendar, as "Umbrella Day" in 1989.
・Goldfish sheltering from the rain with a Japanese umbrella?! <New Goldfish Appraisal> x Japanese Umbrella
In our early summer project, hydrangeas create a gorgeous atmosphere in the aquarium for our New Goldfish Appraisal.
As part of the Umbrella Day production starting on Saturday, June 8th, Japanese umbrellas will also be displayed in this production area.
This work allows you to admire the graceful swimming of goldfish from above, but when viewed from the side, it looks as if the goldfish are taking shelter from the rain under a Japanese umbrella! A cute display perfect for "Umbrella Day."
(Enjoy the goldfish art at your leisure even on a rainy day!)
Although it will be a rainy season from now on, you can enjoy the fantastic art at your leisure without being affected by the weather at our museum. Experience the coming of the season in a way that is unique to the Art Aquarium Museum, where you can enjoy the fantastical "glossy" space where goldfish swim gracefully.
・Currently running early summer project "Fragrant breeze, wisteria and hydrangea, early summer goldfish"
In early summer, the Art Aquarium Museum will be hosting a "lustrous" space themed around wisteria, which blooms in spring, and hydrangeas, which bloom beautifully during the rainy season. The museum will be bathed in purple and ultramarine colors that evoke a sense of nobility and modesty, and goldfish will swim gracefully through the air, creating a fantastical beauty. Please enjoy this special space that can only be experienced during this season when the early summer breeze is blowing.
This early summer event, unique to the rainy season, will be held until Monday, June 24th (please come early).
