Flagship store to open in Ginza in spring 2026
Smith & Wollensky, a long-established steakhouse chain with nearly 50 years of history originating from the United States, will open its first store in Japan in the Ginza district of Tokyo in spring 2026.
Since its opening in New York in 1977, this restaurant has been loved by celebrities and gourmets in the United States and abroad. For Smith & Wollensky, which has a global presence, the Ginza store will be a symbolic store that strengthens its presence in the Asian market. The modern and stately space is suitable for the Ginza location, and in addition to the dining area, it also has a bar and private rooms. In the bar lounge, high-quality cocktails and wines are accompanied by the sound of live jazz, providing a high-quality time for adults that is appropriate for a Ginza night.
Smith & Wollensky uses the highest grade "Prime" beef certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and dry-ages it for up to 28 days to provide steaks that bring out the meat's natural flavor and tenderness to the fullest. You can enjoy the same quality in Japan as you would in classic American cuisine, with the solid techniques that we have cultivated as pioneers of aged meat.
