A new museum, "YURAKUCHO MUSEUM," will open at the Tokyo International Forum on Friday, July 10, 2026! As a grand opening event, we will be holding the "More Than Just Cute!? Pingu Exhibition" from Friday, July 10 to Sunday, September 6.

Today, April 24th, is the birthday of Ottmar Gutmann, the creator of Pingu!
On this momentous day, the "More Than Just Cute!? Pingu Exhibition" has been officially announced!

Sony Creative Products, which operates the YURAKUCHO MUSEUM, a new cultural hub, will present an unprecedented exhibition of "Pingu," the stop-motion animation created by Swiss filmmaker Ottmar Gutmann, whose rights are held by Mattel.

Announced on April 24th, which is also Ottmar Gutmann's birthday, this exhibition, themed around an "amusement park," displays numerous materials, including valuable clay models actually used in the animation production. It is an exhibition where you can see, touch, and experience the charm of Pingu that you may not have known before, such as Pingu's rich expressions, unique movements, and the mysteriously understandable "Pingu language." Through photo spots that allow you to step into the world of the work and interactive content that allows you to play with your body, you can discover a Pingu you have never known before.

What is Pingu…?
Stop-motion animation was created by Swiss filmmaker Ottmar Gutmann.
2025 marked the 45th anniversary of the creation of the test film that would become the prototype for "Pingu" in 1980.
Since 1990, the TV series has been broadcast in over 155 countries and regions worldwide, and the heartwarming and humorous stories of Pingu, a little penguin boy, and his friends are loved by people all over the world.
