One flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, 2021
Orders can be made at the online store "OIL by Bijutsu Techo" from November 15th to December 19th.
At Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore (GINZA SIX 6F, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a new solo exhibition by painter Masaki Okuten was held from November 15th (Monday) to December 26th (Sunday) on the in-store art book floor. increase. In this exhibition, the artist will make a new public production at the venue every weekend.
·Overview
Masaki Okuten is a remarkable painter who deliberately removes the context of art history and works on pictorial expressions that can be touched by people in a broader and more universal sense.
The pictures drawn by the children are transferred to masking tape, and abstract and vivid paintings are applied on top of them. Finally, the work, in which the masking tape is peeled off and the drawing and painting are combined, explores the universal beauty of human beings as a primitive line that is not meaningful.
Titled "The nursery" and inspired by the term "newborn room", this exhibition is a new exhibition that creates an exhibition space where paintings are born and nurtured.
Along with exhibiting and announcing new works, the artist will be present every weekend, peeling off the transferred masking tape, revealing the final production process when the painting work is completed, and aiming for the moment when the work is completed in real time. Can be done. In addition, we also accept custom-made productions that receive orders and produce works.
Experience the moment when the work is born, and enjoy the world of work filled with the "joy of drawing" where the past, future, and others intersect in one painting space.
