JAPAN EDITION, a select shop operated by TOKYO BASE Co., Ltd. that focuses on Japanese craftsmanship, will open its flagship street-level store on Namiki Street in Ginza on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
JAPAN EDITION is a select shop that re-edits traditional techniques, superior materials, and the craftsmanship of artisans passed down in various regions of Japan from a modern perspective, and disseminates them both domestically and internationally, transcending the boundaries of fashion, crafts, and lifestyle.
The newly opening Ginza Namiki-dori store is the flagship store of a brand that will showcase Japanese craftsmanship to the world from Ginza, one of Japan's leading luxury areas. In addition to offering a carefully selected range of products from all over Japan, it will serve as a base to convey the charm of Japanese manufacturing to customers both domestically and internationally through unique events and limited-edition products that can only be experienced here.
To commemorate the opening, we have undertaken a special project with two brands: "YAMANE INDUSTRIES," which has enthusiastic fans all over the world, and "gold," which is developed by Toyo Enterprise. We have created special items that utilize the reliable production background and craftsmanship of each brand, and will be selling them at the Ginza store.
Through special collaborations with leading Japanese craftsmanship brands, made possible only through the JAPAN EDITION, we will transmit new value from Ginza to the world.

■Interior and exterior design: The design supervision was handled by Kamiya Architects Co., Ltd., led by Shuhei Kamiya.
Kamiya commented, "At the JAPAN EDITION Ginza store, we have reinterpreted Japanese architecture within the context of Ginza. The exterior features denim-colored tiled roofs and lanterns, creating a facade that evokes memories of Japanese streetscapes and commerce. The first floor is a light-filled retail space, while the basement is a warm and inviting space with shadows, reminiscent of the 'kura' (warehouses) that once existed in Ginza. This store allows you to experience the world of JAPAN EDITION within the urban setting of Ginza."
Shuhei Kamiya
Having studied under architect and creative director Kengo Kuma and Bjarke Ingels (BIG), Kamiya Architects established its first-class architectural design office in 2017. Working across architecture, interiors, retail spaces, and design direction, the firm transforms the value of land and brands into spatial experiences. Specializing in creating spaces that integrate materials, light, traffic flow, and experience, the firm has worked in a wide range of fields, including hotels, commercial spaces, residences, and cultural facilities. Notable works include "Kudan House," "Hayama Kaji Residence," and "Hoshino Resorts Kai Zao" (scheduled to open in 2026). The firm has received numerous awards, including the Architectural Institute of Japan's Newcomer Award, the Good Design Award, and the Japan Spatial Design Award Gold Prize.
