Five Famous Shaved Ice Shops Appear in a Relay Event in Ginza: Matsuya Ginza Opens “Shaved Ice Collection GINZA” for a Limited Time

The event will be held from Wednesday, July 22nd to Wednesday, September 30th, 2026, at Restaurant City GINZA on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza.

From Wednesday, July 22nd to Wednesday, September 30th, Matsuya will be hosting a limited-time event called "Shaved Ice Collection GINZA" in a corner of Restaurant City GINZA on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza, where five carefully selected shaved ice shops from all over Japan will appear in a relay format.

Amid the intense heat, demand is expected for this to be a " cool-down spot" for shoppers in Ginza.

This event brings together shaved ice shops that are usually difficult to experience outside of their original locations, making a limited-time appearance in Ginza. Some shops will even bring in the same bowls they use in their actual stores, recreating the atmosphere and attention to detail of their original shops. In addition to each shop's signature menu, there will also be a "Matsuya Ginza Limited Menu" specially developed for this event, offering a relay-style selection of shaved ice to beat the summer heat.
Normally, enjoying these treats at physical stores would require waiting in long lines under the scorching summer sun, but this event allows you to wait comfortably in the cool, air-conditioned environment of a department store. With record-breaking heat waves expected this summer, we anticipate demand for this event as a place where shoppers can escape the intense heat and cool down both physically and mentally.
