Sony Park exhibition “⑤ Semiconductor is science fiction” that enters the “world of correspondence that transcends time and space” of YOASOBI’s new song “Taisho Roman”. 9/2 (Thursday) start | “ONE DAY, 2050” will be held at the same time

"⑤ Semiconductor is science fiction. September 2nd (Thursday) -September 13th (Monday), 2021 * Start accepting reservations at noon on 8/25 (Wednesday) https://www.ginzasonypark.jp/sonyparkten/05.html

At Ginza Sony Park, Sony will work on six diverse fields before October 2021 when construction work for the new Ginza Sony Park, which is scheduled to be completed in 2024, will begin. The final program "Sony Park Exhibition", which will be developed by 6 groups of artists belonging to the music group, is being held until September 30, 2021 (Thursday).

This time, we welcomed the novel-making unit "YOASOBI", which consists of composer Ayase and vocal ikura, as a collaborator. "⑤ Semiconductor is science fiction. "with YOASOBI" will be held from September 2nd (Thursday) to September 13th (Monday), 2021 (advance reservation required, free admission). Admission reservations will be accepted from noon on Wednesday, August 25th.

Ginza Sony Park thinks that Sony's semiconductors (sensors), which can be said to be the eyes of electrons, are the existence that evolves the imagination and fantasy of various people into reality, and the theme is "Semiconductors are science fiction." I raised it.

Also, according to YOASOBI's concept of "making novels into music," novels of various genres pass through sensors called Ayase and ikura, and become music that is timely and shakes the hearts of many people. .. I thought that the chemical reaction between the story and the music that took place in the process was also very science fiction.

This time, semiconductors, YOASOBI, and these two, which seem to be far and near, will meet to create a new experience to enter the world of the new song "Taisho Roman" which will be released on September 15, 2021 (Wednesday). The original novel of this song is a work that depicts a sad and beautiful love pattern that unfolds from a timeless "pen pal" between the main character, Tokisho, who lives in the present age, and Chiyoko, who lives in the Taisho era 100 years ago. In "Taisho Roman -Novel Into Music-", which is the main part of this exhibition, you will experience the story of the original novel and the world view of the music with original animations with the motif of the two people's correspondence. In addition, you can enjoy the "Yayu no Hakoba" where you can see a novel book floating in a small box in a three-dimensional image without using special glasses.

Prior to the distribution release, we hope that you will enjoy the sadly beautiful world of the original story with a slightly mysterious experience along with the full version of "Taisho Roman".

Semiconductors are science fiction.

"The future is already here.
It just hasn't spread evenly yet. "

That's what science fiction writer William Gibson said.

Evolved by Sony semiconductors,
The self-directed entertainment robot “aibo” and
A new mobility prototype "VISION-S Prototype".
Just like Gibson's science fiction

Sony's semiconductors have the future that is here and now, and the imagination of various people.

It has evolved into a reality, not a fantasy.

A new technology that makes fantasy a reality
Emergence a new community.

What new experiences can technology create?
Please enjoy the science fiction experience that Ginza Sony Park envisions.

Ginza Sony Park

YOASOBI comment

There is always a story in the middle of our YOASOBI music. The connection between the story and the music, and the depth that comes from it. I hope that you will enjoy such a three-dimensional world view from a new angle through this exhibition.
― Ayase

A form of love that transcends time and space, spun in the story of "Taisho Roman". When I raised my voice, I sang with the hero's feelings for an important person I couldn't meet. With that in mind, I hope it will be a memorable work for everyone who came into contact with YOASOBI through this exhibition.
― Ikura

・ "⑤ Semiconductor is science fiction. with YOASOBI ”: PARK B2 / B2F

The "chemical reaction between story and music", in which novels of various genres become timely music through a sensor called YOASOBI and shakes the hearts of many people, realizes the imagination and fantasy of various people. Ginza Sony Park thought it was very sci-fi, as was Sony's semiconductors, which continue to evolve into something.

Prior to the release of this "⑤Semiconductor is SF.", A slightly mysterious new experience that will enter the world of YOASOBI's new song "Taisho Roman", which will be released on September 15, 2021 (Wednesday). I hope you enjoy it.

Taisho Roman – NOVEL INTO MUSIC –

  • "ONE DAY, 2050 / Sci-Fi Prototyping": PARK B3 / B3F

Sony designers and science fiction writers collaborated to create "Tokyo in 2050" using Sci-Fi prototyping techniques. We explored the four themes of "WELL-BEING," "HABITAT," "SENSE," and "LIFE," and resulted in "design prototyping" by designers and "SF short stories" by science fiction writers. Experience the "possible future" expressed by the rich imagination of designers and science fiction writers.

Among the months I have spent so far
We experienced everyday changes that we had never even imagined. And Tokyo in 2050.
The story of Science Fiction that I once drew is
It may become a reality and appear in front of you.

At that time, who are you next to?
How do you feel in that world?

ONE DAY, 2050:
We will think about it someday.

Theme 1 "WELL-BEING, 2050"

No matter how much technology evolves in 2050, it will be difficult to eliminate stress and setbacks in life. That is why the resilience to recover from it-supporting the acquisition of resilience may enhance people's well-being.

Design Prototyping: "Resilience Program"
An AI counselor in 2050 that helps people develop resilience. The video shows how you sense your stress and changes in your emotions and how you can relieve your stress.

Theme 2 "HABITAT, 2050"

It is said that by 2050, more and more “climate refugees” will have lost their place of residence due to the effects of climate change, and more migrants will have to leave their country of residence due to political problems. It is possible that mobile dwellings on the water will bring about a future in which people will move and live on the seas around the world.

Design prototyping: "Floating Habitat"
How is it possible for people from a wide variety of cultures to live together on the sea, or to coexist with the natural environment? It expresses people's lives and ecosystem at sea in 2050 from the viewpoint of "dwelling".

Theme 3 "SENSE, 2050"

The pandemic created a culture of wearing masks, which may not change in 2050. We envisioned a new mask as an important item for experiencing entertainment using the sense of smell following sight and hearing.

Design prototyping: "Sensorial Entertainment"
What kind of entertainment is it to enjoy the scent of 2050? Based on the vast amount of emotional data accumulated, we envisioned services and tools that enable the reproduction of scents that were smelled in the past.

Theme 4 "LIFE, 2050"

In 2050, a new social security system may be implemented in society, starting with basic income. In such an era, the "job" necessary to live and the "work" to enjoy life may be separated, and people's lifestyles and life plans may change.

Design prototyping: "Life Simulator"
As lifestyles and values diversify, individualized life planning will be required. We envisioned a service that can simulate the possibilities of life with high accuracy.
