Ginza Sony Park is filled with the words of Snoopy and his friends that we need to face in this day and age. “Snoopy speaks today too. – PEANUTS 75th Anniv. -“

Exploring the world of Snoopy's words with 10 guest curators. July 16th (Wed) – August 11th (Mon, holiday) @Ginza Sony Park

https://www.e-tix.jp/snoopy-thinks-again-today/

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the birth of the popular comic "PEANUTS" featuring Snoopy and Charlie Brown, Ginza Sony Park and Sony Creative Products Inc. will be holding an event called "Snoopy Speaks Today – PEANUTS 75th Anniv. -" featuring the "words" of Snoopy and his friends.

The words of Snoopy and his friends, which convey the importance of empathy and understanding for others, humor and kindness, are attracting renewed attention in today's society where various values are mixed. This event is themed around the words that appear in the PEANUTS comics, and is composed of three exhibits: "Words that are important to us, selected by 10 guest curators," "Original items that reconstruct words," and "Casual dining where you can enjoy food and words together."

The guest curators will be a diverse bunch of unique individuals, including comedian and novelist Nishida (Lalande) and poet Saihate Tahi, and their heartfelt words will fill Ginza Sony Park.

1) Important words chosen by 10 guest curators

At this event, ten guest curators will display works inspired by words that have been written in the PEANUTS comics. Essayist Yataro Matsuura will write an essay about his feelings about PEANUTS, while comedian and novelist Nishida (Laland) will capture Snoopy's struggle to write a novel from his own perspective. Musician Ichiko Aoba will create an exhibition that can be enjoyed along with audio of her selected works being read aloud. Please enjoy the exhibition space, which stretches from the second basement floor to the fourth floor, created from words that resonate with the hearts of the ten curators and that they want to cherish.

2) Original items that reconstruct words

In addition to Ginza Sony Park original goods, the limited shop attached to the exhibition space on the second basement floor also sells fashion items such as T-shirts and caps with words selected by fashion director/stylist Akio Hasegawa, who is also participating in the exhibition as a guest curator, that caught his attention in the work, and items with plates designed with words selected by Sakiko Hirano from the work. Be sure to check out the special items that are only available at the main venue.

3) Casual dining where you can enjoy food and language together

The Western-style casual dining restaurant "1/2 (Nibun no Ichi)" on the third basement floor will be offering a special collaboration menu with PEANUTS for a limited time only, created for this event. You can enjoy a total of six menu plates inspired by the characters and words of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and friends.
While keeping the concept of "Nibun no Ichi" (a little less, but still good), classic Western dishes such as omelet rice, hamburger steak, and hayashi rice meet the world of PEANUTS to create a special American-style arrangement. Not only the food, but also the placemats that are set on the table when the food is served and the words printed on the original design menu book are noteworthy.

"1/2 (Nibun no Ichi)" is available without an admission ticket. Please enjoy this special dining experience that is different from the usual menu and is only available during this event.

The latest information on this program, including details on original merchandise, will be posted on the Ginza Sony Park official Instagram account, so don't miss it!

We want to create a new rhythm in the Ginza area.
That's why we want to be a part of your everyday life.
We want this park to be loved by many people.
Ginza Sony Park thinks about this every day.

So,
I now feel like listening again to this work that has continued to touch the hearts of so many people.

In 1950, cartoonist Charles Monroe Schulz began drawing the comic strip "PEANUTS" in the United States.
The daily lives of Snoopy and other unique characters are filled with humor and kindness.
It continues to be loved by a wide range of generations around the world, from children to adults.

Why PEANUTS?
Is it still so beloved after 75 years?
It's not just cute,
From the joys, sorrows, anger, and happiness that everyone has to social questions,
I believe it lies in the universal messages that are conveyed through small, everyday conversations.

He doesn't say much, but he captures the heart with his witty words.
The comfortable rhythm of their words in their everyday lives is
This is probably the most attractive thing about PEANUTS.
Ginza Sony Park thought.

The words Snoopy and his friends say include:
Make our "daily lives" more interesting,
It also seems to contain hidden hints for creating new "rhythms."
It is with this in mind that Ginza Sony Park brings you this program.

■ About Ginza Sony Park

Ginza Sony Park is a "park in the city" located at a corner of the Sukiyabashi intersection in Ginza, Tokyo. A park is a place where people can freely interact and create new experiences because it has space without set rules for how it can be used. By designing this "space," Ginza Sony Park has become a public space that visitors can use freely, creating new "activities" there. This also inherits the concept of a "facility open to the city" that Sony Building has cherished.

The distinctive architecture, with four basement floors and five above ground, is intentionally kept to about half the height of a standard building in Ginza, bringing spatial space and rhythm to the city. The aboveground part is open to the street on three sides, and is directly connected to the subway and underground parking lot. In addition, the large atrium structure that stretches from the first basement floor to the second aboveground floor and the vertical promenade make the seamless connection with the city more urban and three-dimensional.

Ginza Sony Park does not have any permanent tenants, but instead takes advantage of the space to develop a variety of activities. On the B3 floor, the casual dining restaurant "1/2 (Nibun no Ichi)" based on Western cuisine offers new experiences through food.

Ginza Sony Park was born by redefining the urban park, and through its space and activities, it will continue to create new rhythms for the city and its people.
