From “reading” to “watching.” The world of Miyazawa Kenji is depicted through Japanese paintings. Japanese painter Nojima Hamae’s new work, “The Exhibition of Many Orders,” will be held from October 23rd.

Ginza Nakajima Art October 23rd to November 5th, 2025 Experience the joy of expression in a Japanese painting workshop using face paint and gold paint.

Main visual: "Everyone please come in" Japanese painting (three-dimensional) from Miyazawa Kenji's "The Restaurant of Many Orders"

The works of Japanese painter Hamae Nojima are woven with poetry and stories that resonate with the viewer, teaching us that words are not necessarily the key to entering the world of a story.
This exhibition will feature 13 Japanese paintings and three-dimensional works inspired by three of Miyazawa Kenji's works: "The Restaurant of Many Orders," "The Chief Who Likes Poisonous Folds," and "The Three Who Graduated from Cave Bear School."

About Japanese painter Nojima Hamae

He is a member of the Nitten Exhibition. His grandfather (Nojima Yasuaki), father (Nojima Kazuaki), uncle (Nojima Chiaki), and sister (Nojima Chiharu) are all Japanese-style painters, so he grew up surrounded by Japanese-style painting. He was first selected for the Nitten Exhibition while studying at Tama Art University. After completing graduate school, he has focused his activities on the Nitten Exhibition, winning numerous encouragement awards. He received the Tokyo Governor's Award in 2022 and the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award in 2024, and is attracting attention as an up-and-coming artist.
During his career as an artist, he encountered the stories of Kenji Miyazawa, and has focused on creating works themed around stories. At times, he immerses himself in the story, feeling and expressing what is there, and continues to create works that stimulate all five senses of the viewer.
