An event will be held to enjoy the aroma and tea-related products of "OGATA"
Wako Co., Ltd. will be holding an event called "OGATA – A new way to enjoy fragrance" in the basement of its main store from Thursday, November 27th to Wednesday, December 10th.
The basement floor was reborn as "Arts and Culture" in July 2024 with the concept of "a stage for time," and has since introduced products that embody Japanese aesthetics, craftsmanship, and sustainability.
This time, OGATA will provide a space where you can enjoy the aroma and tea, advocating modern lifestyles based on Japan's traditional culture that has been passed down through coexistence with nature.
■ “Aroma”
"KAORI," developed by OGATA, offers a modern reinterpretation of Eastern fragrance culture, proposing a new way to enjoy fragrance by wearing subtle, natural scents that change with the passage of time. Along with a variety of tools for enjoying fragrance, such as incense burners, feather brooms, and incense jars, the store will also sell six types of "YOKA" fragrances, carefully blended using a unique manufacturing process using finely crushed, high-quality natural ingredients that have traditionally been used in incense. "YOKA" was created with the concept of wearing subtle, natural fragrances on your body. It can be placed on a container to waft the scent into the room, or placed in a bag and enjoyed as a personal fragrance.
■“Tea”
OGATA offers new tastes and enjoyments for tea through its "T., Collection." The store offers blended teas made using a unique method that captures the characteristics of various Japanese teas, including sencha, gyokuro, roasted tea, bancha, black tea, and oolong tea, and combines them with fruits and grains. The store also introduces tools for enjoying tea, such as teapots and teacups.

■OGATA
OGATA was founded by Shinichiro Ogata to advocate modern lifestyles based on traditional Japanese culture that has been passed down through coexistence with nature. In 2020, OGATA Paris opened in France as a place where customers can experience the OGATA approach in a comprehensive way through tea, food, sweets, crafts, and fragrance. The company aims to connect people around the world and foster culture.
■ Wako Main Store Basement Floor Arts and Culture
The basement of the flagship store was reborn as "Arts and Culture" on July 20, 2024. This floor is not just a place to shop, but a base for conveying the stories behind the products, such as the traditions and techniques that have been passed down for hundreds of years, the Japanese aesthetic sense born from how we interact with nature, and the time spent pursuing creativity, and is a place for culture and people to interact.
Since its founding as the Hattori Watch Shop, its predecessor, Wako has introduced products that represent the pinnacle of artisan craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology, as well as holding regular art exhibitions, fostering diverse perspectives and inspiration through interactions with the people who gather there. Continuing Wako's spirit of respecting arts and culture, we will present the works of Japanese craftsmen and contemporary artists from the unique perspective of our basement floor.
