This is the 14th exhibition by the current 12th generation artist, Hisashige Ito, at Wako, and the first in three years. Wako Ginza will be holding the exhibition "Three Generations of Master Katsunori Ito Hisashige: Connecting Skills and Spirit" at the Seiko House Hall from Thursday, January 15th to Sunday, January 25th, 2026. The Ito family, a family of court doll makers, has been creating Gosho dolls in Kyoto for generations since the mid-Edo period. The Gosho dolls, which are passed down from father to son, are characterized by their woodcarving technique using paulownia wood, their glossy white skin, and their adorable three-headed figures.
