-Three days of experiencing the essence of Higashi Ginza- Announcement of the “Higagin Street Festival”

We are pleased to announce that Higashi Ginza Area Management General Incorporated Association will be holding the "Higagin Street Festival," an event that will connect the history and traditional culture of the town, turning Kobikicho Street in front of Kabukiza into a pedestrian zone for three days from Friday, March 27th to Sunday, March 29th, 2026.

This event will feature a variety of programs, including "Kobikicho Back Alley Festival – Dance and Tatami Rooms," where Shimbashi geisha will perform elegant dances on Kobikicho Street, as well as "Edo Hidden Street Projection – The Lost Road Behind the Kabukiza," an event that weaves the history of Higashi Ginza with projection mapping and a market.

"Higagin Street Festival" Event Summary

■Program 1: "Kobikicho Back Alley Festival – Dance and Tatami Rooms"

A stage truck appears on Kobikicho Street!
On this stage, the Shimbashi Geisha, who have a history of over 100 years in Higashi Ginza, will perform elegant dances.

What's more, a performance by Arashio Stable, the only sumo stable in Chuo Ward, will be held on the same day!
Sumo is one of Japan's most representative forms of entertainment, and we will be presenting a powerful performance.

Please enjoy this traditional culture that you don't usually have the opportunity to experience.

■Program 2: "Edo Hidden Street Projection – The Lost Backstreets of Kabukiza"

This is a projection mapping event that dynamically projects the history and charm of the area, which has continued since the Edo period, onto the walls of the Kabukiza Theater! In particular, for three days from March 27th (Fri) to 29th (Sun), a special extra-large projection will be made on two of the walls of the Kabukiza Theater. In addition, to coincide with this projection, the "Edo Backstreet Market" will be held at the same time, bringing together markets and workshops unique to Higashi Ginza, located between Ginza and Tsukiji, and home to a collection of elaborate shops and restaurants!

Screening time: 18:00-21:00 (Loop screenings are planned for approximately three times per hour)
Admission: Free *From March 27th (Fri) to 29th (Sun), there will be a limited-time projection of extra-large projections on two of the walls of the Kabukiza.
*The event will be held rain or shine, but may be cancelled in the event of severe weather.
