I will do it.
·Overview
At the Taro Okamoto Contemporary Art Award (commonly known as the "TARO Award"), which inherits the wishes of Taro Okamoto and honors the next generation of artists, in 2020, at the youngest age of 18 in history, he won the grand prize "24th Taro Okamoto Award". The award-winning Kayafu Onishi. An installation consisting of a total of 60 paintings entitled "Requiem", a coined word that combines "Requiem" and "Coronavirus", was announced and attracted attention.
In this exhibition, we will introduce the main exhibition divided into the first and second half of the exhibition period, focusing on the works drawn in the last six months while attending Tokyo University of the Arts. In the first half of the session, the core part of Taro Okamoto's award-winning work "Requicoros", and from Thursday, July 21 in the second half, a new group work "Today's" with the meaning of a tribute to Taro Okamoto's work "Myth of Tomorrow". "Myth" "Daytime painting" and "Night painting" are exhibited. "Paradise full of truth, goodness, and beauty" with a unique interpretation in "picture of the day", and life and soul are tossed around a huge weapon as the opposite world in "picture of the night". The figure is drawn, and when viewed as a group work, Taro Okamoto's Tower of the Sun is drawn as an existence that penetrates "day" and "night".
Another highlight of the latter half is "Part 1-Eros-" and "Part 2-Thanatos-" of the group work "Love of the Forest". Suspended from the ceiling in the center of the venue, we will reproduce the first appearance exhibited in the forest of Tokyo University of the Arts. By looking at the work from "Requicoros" as a high school student in Osaka to the latest work "Love in the Forest" as a student at Tokyo University of the Arts, the author says, "I came to Tokyo from Osaka and my style has changed considerably." You can also appreciate the transition of the style of painting.

・ Artist statement
Professor Masato Kobayashi of my university often mentions the word "art of this star". When I say this word myself, I feel that my existence has a little roots on this star / earth.
At the seminar of Professor Kobayashi the other day, I submitted a group work called "Forest Love". At Tokyo University of the Arts, there is a dense "forest" of old trees, although it is not large. I can't make a big thing like "the art of this star" yet, but I wanted to make something that could be called "a painting of this forest". On the day of submission, it was a cloudy day in the rainy season, but I exhibited the paintings in the forest of the university and had my teachers and friends see them. For me, it was a moment when I felt that my work had come to life because of the spirit of the forest and the vitality of the people at the university.
This time, I strongly feel the joy of exhibiting my work while being surrounded by countless books in the middle of Ginza, where human energy is concentrated. I hope my work will become the art of this city, the art of Tokyo, and one day it will grow into "the art of this star".
