Kaneka Foods Co., Ltd., a group company of Kaneka Corporation, opened BENOIT NIHANT GINZA, the first domestic store of the Belgian chocolate brand BENOIT NIHANT*1, in central Tokyo. Grand opening on September 16th (Sat) in Ginza, Tokyo.
“BENOIT NIHANT” is a chocolate brand launched in 2005 by Mr. Benoit Nihant*2, a cacao craftsman from Belgium who has a background as a former engineer. It features a single origin using cacao from a single farm and a single variety, and is consistently produced in its own workshop from roasting to finished products. In addition, at our cacao plantation in Peru, we are working to create an environmentally friendly cacao plantation and engage in fair trade with cacao producers.
We started importing and selling “BENOIT NIHANT” chocolate in 2019, and have sold it at special venues nationwide, including Valentine’s Day, and at the official online shop ( https://benoitnihant.jp ).
BENOIT NIHANT GINZA, which will be grand opening this time, is Japan's first flagship store, and will sell tablet chocolates, bonbons, as well as Japan-only baked goods, chocolate confectionery, and Western confectionery. In addition, we have a reservation-only café, and we offer a "Japan-only parfait" that can only be tasted at the flagship store. Various chocolate products and baked sweets can also be purchased at the official online shop.
The store also functions as a Kaneka brand transmission base, such as Kaneka OLED lighting used for in-store lighting and Kaneka biodegradable biopolymer Green Planet® used for shopping bags.
In the future, we will continue to provide a wide range of solutions that contribute to the diversification and richness of food, and expand sales of products created by Mr. Benoît Niang, who is working to improve the natural environment and working environment. Kaneka makes the world healthier.We will contribute to solving global environmental issues by realizing KANEKA thinks “Wellness First.”
