·overview
Shintaro Inoue is an artist who draws with simple lines and colorful colors, based on the calligraphy experience he has cultivated since childhood. He mainly uses acrylic paint to create a portrait series depicting women as symbols of the era.
This exhibition, which is the artist's third solo exhibition at Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore, will feature a large-scale work exceeding 1.5 meters in size, a first for the artist, in which two pieces of work are arranged side by side. In particular, the work in which the same expression of a woman is displayed side by side is like a reproduced print, with the freehand lines drawn on the left and right canvases matching perfectly. On the other hand, by changing the color patterns of the background and lines, the same person appears to be a completely different person, expressing the diverse images of women living in modern times.
In addition to these new works, an animated work storyboarded by Inoue will be projected on monitors in the venue.

・Message for this exhibition
My lines and colors are based on each individual's individuality, and I aim for a world where we can recognize each other's thoughts and differences, and not be divided by lines or colors, but where many things exist. Conflicts between nations are intensifying in the world today, but borders are not lines that divide countries, but rather "NO BORDER LINE" – I chose this title for my solo exhibition with the hope that people all over the world will respect each other by recognizing each other's individuality and coexisting. I myself will also be traveling "NO BORDER" across the world to find out how INOUE LINE ART will be evaluated.
