Konica Minolta Planetarium TOKYO (Yurakucho, Tokyo), an entertainment planetarium facility for adults, has decided to screen a special program, "Immersive Planetarium – Monet," starting on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Claude Monet is a leading Impressionist painter. This immersive program allows visitors to experience the "transition of light" that he depicted throughout his life in the planetarium's full-dome. Supervised by Claude Monet researcher Yasui Hiroo, the program explores what Monet loved, what he focused on, and how he left his mark on the canvas with light. Along with his many masterpieces, the program introduces the journey of Monet's life.
A new dimension of immersive experience depicting the world as seen by Monet
The greatest feature of "Immersive Planetarium – Monet" is its unprecedented "new-dimensional immersive experience." This work uses the latest AI technology to deliver a number of masterpieces, including the world-famous "Water Lilies" series and "Impression, Sunrise," with an expanded expression that reaches "outside the canvas." Monet's brushstrokes and vibrant colors spread across the entire dome. The world that was originally contained within a square frame is now unleashed across the entire wall and even overhead, allowing viewers to literally witness "the world as Monet saw it."
The venue, Planetarium Tokyo's DOME1, is a special planetarium that is filled with images from ceiling to wall. The projections envelop the entire 15m diameter dome, painting the entire field of vision in Monet's colors, creating a one-of-a-kind immersive space.
Enjoy the ultimate digital art experience as Monet's world engulfs you whole-body.
Photogenic limited menu also available

You can also take photos before the main screening. Enjoy taking photos of the photogenic cafe menu with the images spreading across the dome as your backdrop.
