The “Side Effects: Kisho Kakutani & Reo Kikuchi Two-Person Exhibition” will be held at Artglorieux GALLERY OF TOKYO in Ginza.

Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Store will be hosting "Side Effects: Kisho Kakutani & Reo Kikuchi Two-Person Exhibition" at "Artglorieux GALLERY OF TOKYO," an art gallery operated by the company on the 5th floor of GINZA SIX, exploring the uncertainty of contemporary visual experiences and the possibilities of new perceptions that emerge beyond them.

Date: August 27th (Thursday) – September 2nd (Wednesday), 2026
Opening hours: 10:30 AM – 8:30 PM (closing at 6:00 PM on the last day)

We are surrounded by countless images every day, and our perceptions and memories of them are constantly being updated. In this exhibition, Kisho Kakutani stimulates the viewer's imagination through paintings that blur images based on smartphone photographs. Meanwhile, Reo Kikuchi repeats and reconstructs existing painting images, questioning the frameworks of originality and reproduction, and visual perception. "Side Effects" is an exhibition that explores the uncertainty of seeing and the possibilities of new perceptions and cognitions that arise from it, through the different methods of these two artists.

Kisho Kakutani, "Scrawl #11," S100 size, acrylic paint on canvas.

Reo Kikuchi, "Copy and Paste 2604," S6 size, acrylic paint on canvas.
