Announcement of the ATELIER MUJI special exhibition “MUJI’s Basic Clothing”

9/6 (Friday) – 9/23 (Monday)

Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd., which develops MUJI products, will hold a special exhibition "MUJI We will be holding an event called "Quality Basic Clothing."

Ryohin Keikaku adheres to the three principles of "selection of materials," "process inspection," and "simplification of packaging" in the manufacturing of MUJI products, while incorporating the traditions and cultures of countries and regions around the world, the wisdom of our forefathers, and nature. We aim to realize "comfortable lives and society" not only through our products but also through our services and activities, by learning from our past and continuing to create everyday items that support the basics of everyday life with consideration for society and the environment.

When it comes to clothing, we learn from natural materials and traditional work clothes as everyday clothing that supports our lives, and we value ease of movement, durability, and comfort, and we create clothing that is a wardrobe staple like shirts and jeans. Practical items have also been updated to suit the times.

This exhibition is divided into themes, allowing visitors to experience MUJI's "clothing basics" and the background of clothing manufacturing. Gallery 1 has the theme of "craftsmanship," and features broadcloth shirts, denim The exhibition will feature videos and a chance to see, touch, and experience the attention to detail behind these three items. Gallery 2 will have a theme of "comfort," and will showcase the comfort and movement of a broadcloth shirt, which feels like wearing air. The brick wall in the venue will feature an installation that visually expresses the changes in wearability and durability over time, such as broadcloth shirts, striped T-shirts, and chino pants, with the theme of "durability and longevity." The items are displayed in three stages, and the idea is that wearing them for many years will help you grow attached to them, as part of everyday clothing.

In addition, a space linked to this exhibition will be set up on the clothing floors on the second and third floors of MUJI Ginza, and the sales floor and special exhibition will be integrated throughout the store.
