The second store after Asakusa Kappabashi. Over 100 items including tableware and vases by over 20 glass artists from Japan and abroad are on display.
TSUCHI-YA, a glassware and craft specialty store and a new group business of Tsuchiya Bag Manufacturing Co., Ltd., which has been conveying "Japanese carefulness" through leather products, will open its second store, TSUCHI-YA Ginza Store, in Ginza, Chuo Ward, Tokyo tomorrow, Friday, May 9, 2025.

You will be greeted by TSUCHI-YA's signature lighting, designed by Yoshihiko Takahashi, who is also a familiar face at the Asakusa Kappabashi main store.
Based on the concept of "Glass crafts to enjoy in your daily life," TSUCHI-YA Ginza store has more than 100 pieces of glass, vases, accessories, and objets d'art by more than 20 glass artists from Japan and abroad. We paid particular attention to the lighting and display methods, aiming to create a space where discerning customers can enjoy the brilliance and rich expressiveness of glass. "TSUCHI-YA Ginza store" will develop a wide range of glass crafts that can be enjoyed as decorations or worn, such as for interior and fashion.
Located in Kappabashi Tool Street in Asakusa, Tokyo, where many people are looking for professional tools, TSUCHI-YA Asakusa Kappabashi Main Store sells mainly glass cups and tableware that enrich everyday life. People from Japan and abroad who are not familiar with glass crafts have been visiting us many times to enjoy the pleasure of choosing their favorites from the individual differences. In response to this reaction and to customers who want to take their time to choose, we have decided to open a second store in Ginza, the heart of Tokyo.
A space where you can lose track of time and immerse yourself in the delicate beauty of glass
"TSUCHI-YA Ginza Store" is a small space of about 30 square meters, but there are so many works that it cannot be displayed all at once. Our staff, who are also glass artists, will talk with you and ask about your preferences and lifestyle, providing you with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take your time choosing your pieces.
A collection of unique works that make everyday life more enjoyable
Mr. Yoshihiko Takahashi (Kanagawa)
In addition to the clear glass that is easy to use in daily life, we also have candy gray cups and bowls available. We will be introducing a wide range of items, from familiar items that will delight fans to one-of-a-kind pieces.
Mr. Shimada Shinpei (Kumamoto)
This is the first time that TSUCHI-YA has handled the work of this master craftsman from Kumamoto. Shimada's playful glass, which is expressed using a variety of techniques, and wall art will be available in different designs each season.
Yutaro Kijima (Tokyo)
The "Kerimon" series, which is permanently on display at the Asakusa store, will be on display at the Ginza store, featuring large flower vases and objets d'art. The boldly carved tableware has a sense of weight and presence, enhancing the food like art.
harunasugie (Tokyo)
The SHIBOU series is based on the motif of fat, a part of the body. These accessories express fat, which is considered wasteful and ugly, in beautiful glass. The lightness of the piece is what makes it so appealing, despite its powerful appearance.
Tsutomu Deshimaru (Kagoshima)
We will be introducing some of the few transparent Satsuma Kiriko sake bottles and sake cups from craftsmen who are known for their unique colors such as amber and olive. At the Ginza store, we plan to offer transparent glasses that allow you to enjoy the color of your drink.
Satoshi Nabetani (Tokyo)
The delicate and gorgeous glasses made by Edo Kiriko traditional craftsmen are popular with customers both in Japan and overseas. The Ginza store offers mainly clear and light ink glasses, as well as rock glasses with a floral motif.
Keigo Ishihara (Tokyo)
Rock glasses made by young artisans at Toa Glass Crafts, led by Satoshi Nabeya, will be unveiled for the first time at TSUCHI-YA.
Although these are rare pieces that are only produced in limited numbers, he is one of the creators we would like to promote by increasing the number of items we offer at our Ginza store.
Mr. Fumitaka Matsui
Matsui, who studied graphic design at an art university, will be launching a new series at the Ginza store.
The clear glass, lavishly cut with blue tinted glass, shines like a "sculpture of light."

Original products by TSUCHI-YA
Triangular barrel glass pen
TSUCHI-YA's glass pens have triangular barrels, which are also used in writing instruments such as pencils. The triangular glass barrels used in scientific experiments are cut into a modern design. Borosilicate glass is a hard material that is difficult to cut. This difficult task was successfully overcome with the skill of our artisans.
Frosted Water Bottle
One of the concepts behind TSUCHI-YA's original products is "Ready Made Craft." By adding the extra step of handcrafting, ready-made products that we see every day are transformed into something with a charm that mass-produced products cannot match.
This item is popular at our Asakusa store as it aims to have a quiet presence that won't ruin the atmosphere on the table when guests visit.
The Ginza store also plans to offer collaboration models with glass artists.
Gift wrapping with care
One of the features of TSUCHI-YA is that many customers choose to give gifts. We will carefully wrap each item with our original wrapping paper for the giver and the loved one. *Some items are excluded.
As a link that "enriches both users and creators"
A glassware specialty store that supports glass artists and traditional glass cutter craftsmen active both in Japan and overseas
Tsuchiya Bag Manufacturing, which produces SUCHI-YA, is a manufacturing company that began as a school bag workshop in the downtown area in 1965. The second-generation current president, Shigenori Tsuchiya, has supported the manufacturing of the founder, a school bag craftsman, with the motto, "Just making good things is not enough. We need to communicate and convey to customers." With the mission of "enriching both users and makers by learning from the past," TSUCHI-YA will support the glass craftsmen who make them as a connector. The business is handled by Isso Co., Ltd., which is in the same group as Tsuchiya Bag, and will open "TSUCHI-YA Asakusa Kappabashi Main Store" on Kappabashi Dogu-gai Street in Asakusa on Thursday, August 18, 2022. The company also operates its own EC site.
The Asakusa Kappabashi store has a selection of around 1,300 items (priced from 1,250 yen to 300,000 yen including tax), including clear glass cups perfect for drinking water or tea, sake vessels such as wine glasses and rock glasses, Edo Kiriko glassware, tableware, and vases. More than 39 people, including traditional Kiriko craftsmen and glass artists active both in Japan and overseas, have created "glassware and glass crafts with designs that fit into modern lifestyles and everyday life." Special exhibitions are held once or twice a month, so you can encounter new works every time you visit.
TSUCHI-YA is a shop name that embodies the "passion for craftsmanship" that Tsuchiya Bags has cultivated, and is a specialty store that promotes the appeal of "Japanese-made glassware" made with careful handwork. We have a wide range of customers, including glasses, dishes, and vases, mainly in their 20s to 40s who are particular about quality of life, as well as restaurant managers and, since the relaxation of COVID-19 regulations, an increasing number of foreign tourists. In response to customer requests, we have received many advance orders for semi-custom orders, especially from restaurant managers from overseas.
