Up-and-coming Japanese painter Kohei Niino’s solo exhibition “day after day” will be held at Artglorieux GALLERY OF TOKYO in Ginza

Artglorieux GALLERY OF TOKYO, an art gallery operated by Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Store on the 5th floor of GINZA SIX, will be holding a solo exhibition of works by up-and-coming Japanese painter Kohei Niino entitled "day after day."

Date: January 15th (Thursday) – January 21st (Wednesday), 2026
Business hours: 10:30-20:30 (closing at 18:00 on the last day)

Niino Kohei has focused on the "culture of accepting change" that is common to both Japanese painting and street art.
The foil changes color over time, and the city walls change appearance due to wind, rain, and the writing of others.
This exhibition, "day after day," offers a panoramic view of the artist's journey, one that has affirmed such change and accumulation.
The artworks are reborn every day as tradition and the city, stillness and impulse, past and present intertwine.
This is an attempt to demonstrate the conviction that continuous change creates the future.

In conjunction with the exhibition, an interview with haiku poet Kei Iwata has been published on the online media "ARToVILLA."
Please also take a look at this conversation between the two artists, who continue to explore the possibilities of contemporary expression while focusing on the traditional forms of Japanese painting and haiku.

■Profile
Kohei Niino

Born in Tokyo.
He is based in Tokyo and mainly participates in exhibitions.
With the theme of Japanese painting x street art, he creates works that use Japanese painting materials such as gold leaf, mineral pigments, and washi paper, while incorporating elements influenced by street culture such as the composition of tagging (letters).
By combining the tradition of Japanese painting, which values natural materials, with the futuristic image of street art, he has created works that simultaneously convey the taste of the texture of good old materials and a stylish newness.
