We collaborated with Fukunaga Paper Co., Ltd., a company that pursues the possibilities of paper with its high level of technical expertise, including the development of paper products such as "Air Vessel" and "Terada Mokei." Using paper fixtures, we created a space where you can experience the charm of paper.
Ginza Mitsukoshi is focusing on "Japan's paper culture," which evolves alongside daily life, and will be holding the first ever "SUPER PAPER MARKET IN GINZA" from Wednesday, April 1st to Friday, April 24th, 2026, at the event hall on the 7th floor of the new building. For this inaugural exhibition, they will be collaborating with Fukunaga Paper Co., Ltd., which pursues the possibilities of paper with its high level of technical skill, including the development of paper products such as "Air Vessel" and "Terada Mokei."
The venue will feature an exhibition and sale of a lineup that encapsulates Fukunaga Paper's "past" and "future," including archives created by Fukunaga Paper and projects that will pave the way for the future of paper. In addition, a collaborative work between Able Art Company's Sakura Yuki's work "The Arrival of Spring" and Fukunaga Paper's "Air Vessel" will be on display.
Furthermore, the exhibition space will primarily utilize paper fixtures, creating a layout that allows visitors to appreciate the unique appeal of paper, and expressing the "possibilities of paper" throughout the entire space.

Nearly 70% of Japan's land area is covered by forests, making it the third-largest forest-producing country in the world among OECD member countries, after Finland and Sweden. Having utilized paper in their daily lives since ancient times, the Japanese have pursued the quality and beauty of paper, building a unique culture that transcends mere functionality.
Ginza Mitsukoshi is focusing on "Japan's paper culture," which evolves alongside daily life, and will be holding its first ever "SUPER PAPER MARKET IN GINZA" with the aim of showcasing the appeal of Japanese paper processing technology and paper products to customers around the world and expanding the possibilities of paper globally. In addition to introducing products, the exhibition will also feature archive displays and participatory projects. Furthermore, the venue environment will primarily utilize paper fixtures to express "the possibilities of paper" throughout the entire space.
"How far can we go with just one sheet of paper?" – Fukunaga Paper Co., Ltd. Paper Products 20th Anniversary
Fukunaga Paper Co., Ltd. launched its design project in 2006, a time when the term "designer goods" was not yet widely established, and this year marks its 20th anniversary.
<Air Vessel>
"Air Vessel" is a collaborative project between Torafu Architects & Engineers and Fukunaga Paper Co., Ltd., which was established in 2010.
This paper container changes shape as if to envelop the air, and shows various expressions depending on how it is unfolded.
Its distinctive feature is a structure that combines the lightness inherent in paper with the tension and strength required when used as a container.
In addition to the artist collaboration series and other lineups, this exhibition will feature an installation that allows visitors to experience the world of "Air Vessels."
<Terada Mokei>
Terada Mokei is a collaborative project between architect Naoki Terada and Fukunaga Paper Co., Ltd., launched in 2011. As a brand of 1/100 scale paper models, it has expanded to over 100 series, starting with accessory sets for architectural models, and including "World Cities," "Sports," and "Trees." This exhibition showcases the entire lineup of the "1/100 Architectural Model Accessory Set" series. Come and see the ever-expanding world of Terada Mokei.

UNBOX is a consulting team specializing in the structural design of paper, owned by Fukunaga Paper Co., Ltd.
We offer custom-made packaging tailored to the characteristics and uses of each product, from structural design onwards. In this exhibition, we will present examples of packaging designs that Fukunaga Paper Co. has worked on to date, along with the "thinking" behind <UNBOX>, which leads to the final form, and the "possibilities" for the future of the paper industry.

We will be exhibiting a collaborative work between Sakura Yuki, an artist affiliated with Able Art Company, and Fukunaga Paper Co.'s "Air Vessel."
Sakura Yuki's Profile
Based in Yamaguchi Prefecture, she expresses her honest and genuine emotions through her artwork, freeing herself from the frustration of being unable to put things into words. She paints soft and warm feelings, and what she feels in each moment, as if bathed in color, letting her emotions flow freely.
Numerous awards, including the Excellence Award at the Sankei Habatake Art Open Call Exhibition 2025.
[Participatory Project] Let's play with paper scraps from Fukunaga Paper Co.!
"Paper scraps" are generated during the packaging and product manufacturing process. Let's use these beautiful papers, with their lovely colors and textures, to create small works of art once again. Enjoy the process of working with paper and letting your imagination run wild.
