35 works by 12 photographers will be on display from April 26th at the Leica Gallery Tokyo and Leica Professional Store Tokyo.
Leica Camera Japan Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the " Timeless Vision " photo exhibition, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Leica Ginza store and the Leica Gallery Tokyo.
The Leica Ginza store, which opened in April 2006 as the world's first directly managed Leica store, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Located on the second floor, the Leica Gallery Tokyo was established as the world's second directly managed Leica gallery, following the one in Wetzlar, Germany.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary, " Timeless Vision ," to be held at Leica Gallery Tokyo and Leica Professional Store Tokyo, will showcase 35 works by 12 photographers from Japan and abroad who have previously held exhibitions at Leica Gallery Tokyo.
Curated by Karin Lane-Kaufmann, President and Art Director of Leica Gallery International, this exhibition features a carefully selected collection of exquisite works from the Leica Photo Archive Collection, which symbolizes Leica's photographic history, including works by Elliott Erwitt, Sébastien Salgado, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Constantin Manos, Jürgen Schadeberg, Bruce Gilden, René Bri, Robert Doisneau, and Marc Riboud, as well as representative works by Herbie Yamaguchi, Kikuji Kawada, and Yoshino Oishi, which symbolize their journeys and their relationship with Leica.
"For me, this exhibition speaks to the very way we look at the world. Photographs created in different eras, cities, and cultures are connected by a single, shared gaze—careful, respectful, and deeply human. ' Timeless Vision ' reminds us that photography is not merely an image, but a quiet dialogue with the moment, and a testament to the history we share."
Karin Lane-Kaufmann states the following:
Society, cities, people, memory—the gazes of photographers who have looked at diverse subjects have expanded the possibilities of photographic expression across time and place. Common to each of their works is a deep respect for their subjects and a firm perspective on the world.
Photography is not merely a record or a disposable image; it is an act of confronting the world, witnessing the moment, and conveying meaning across time.
This exhibition looks back on the history of vision that Leica and photographers have built together, and attempts to show anew how photography as a form of expression connects to the present and the future, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the diversity of Leica photography.

Leica Gallery 50th Anniversary
For 50 years, Leica Galleries have been more than just exhibition spaces around the world. They are places that nurture imagination, foster dialogue, and weave encounters. Since the opening of the first Leica Gallery in Wetzlar in 1976, its journey has spread across continents and developed into an international network today. A firm belief that "photography has the power to move people's hearts and change their perspectives" unites the galleries around the globe. Leica Galleries have continued to celebrate the art of vision and the power of photography. For half a century, connecting cultures, generations, and stories across borders, they have deepened the understanding that true photography is timeless and that the act of "seeing" is a universal language.
