The Ginza Summer Festival, which has been held in the pedestrian zone since 2007, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Many "hospitality shops" will be participating, offering special benefits to those who visit in yukata (summer kimono).
The Ginza Street Association will hold the Ginza Summer Festival, "Yukata de Ginbura 2026," on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Started in 2007 as part of the "Holiday Promenade" to commemorate the opening of the pedestrian zone, this year marks the 20th anniversary. In addition to the popular O-Ginza Bon Odori dance, which was a hit last year, food stalls offering the flavors of famous Ginza shops will appear on Ginza Street. There will also be water sprinkling, performances by Dengaku-za, and hands-on activity corners for kids, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.
The Ginza Summer Festival will take place from 1-chome to 8-chome, featuring a variety of events including performances by the Dengaku-za troupe, water sprinkling, and a kids' space for children to enjoy. There will also be tie-up projects with commercial facilities and department stores in the Ginza area, and many stores with locations in Ginza will participate as "hospitality stores." Special services will be offered to those who meet certain conditions, such as visiting in a yukata. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the Ginza Summer Festival!
